      LD meeting the subconscious

The dream is telling me to remember my dreams carefully so I can reconstruct them and change one element at a time to learn everything one has to show me. I realize I'm dreaming but the dream hasn't formed yet. It's still whispy. So I practice visualizing things. I see a cottage but it's overlaid on a landscape that I know. Everything has a blue tinge. Suddenly everything pops into hyper vividness. Like HD real life. There is a wooden dock going over the lake. It's a summer night with the moon out. It's pouring rain, and I start walking out the dock. With the intention of asking the dream to see my subconscious. As I'm walking I tell myself no dream stabilization is needed my awareness stabilizes the dream. A pirate is sitting in the shadows. He tells me it will cost me a hand. But I said I didn't care. I get to the end of dock and yell I want to meet my subconscious. The dream blurs into black and I have a FA.

      What did I do wrong?

Wrong? I don't think you can really say you've done anything wrong... I mean, you stabilized by not stabilizing, for one. That's cool! What caused the dream to fade into a FA? I doubt that is something even possible to determine. Dreams tend to do what they want, you know? I'm sure even the most experienced LDers here still end up with FAs.

I say try it again, and again, until you get it. These things get better the more you do them, right?

I suppose you're right. I actually think my subconscious answered in it's own way. The dream is rife with symbolism. I'm just disappointed it didn't answer directly.

i also tried some times to direct the dream itself and shout out a question. sometimes nothing happens sometimes i lost visuals but could regain then sometimes i wake up. i think it is a matter of practice to stay calm but have a big intention and just be sure that your SC will accept your request.
i would repeat it over and over again. every time something will be different. the environment your awarenesslvl etc.

the important thing is to stay positive and relaxed about it!
