      Huzzah! Finally!

Well, I have been trying for about a month, and I finally had a semi-lucid dream last night.

I was at Osco Drug (where I work) and I was near the front of the store. It was near the evening because I could see the sunset streaming in the front windows. At that moment, I became aware that I was dreaming. It was a great, but somewhat subtle feeling. I didn't do a reality check or anything. I had just looked at my alarm clock before I fell back asleep, and I just kinda realized that I was still in bed. Although I was lucid, i didnt really seem to have conscious control over my dream self. After realizing I was dreaming, I looked at a package of batteries that I was holding and noticed the details of the cardboard backing (i wanted to see if it was true what ppl said about LDs having great detail). It was in good detail, but the rest of the dream still had that blurry dream-like quality. I then wanted to try flying (like everyone does), but i seemed to quickly loose lucidity. I then went outside, but instead of flying, I climbed the wall like Spiderman, except I only used my hands. Then, once I got to the roof, I lost all lucidity and I cannot remember the rest of the dream (although I am positive that there was more).

It absolutely resparked my intrest in LDing just as I was about to give up
Now, I really have a reason to keep trying

Congratson the LD . And dont wory about the control thing, it will come as you have more LDs. I have been having LD's almost all my life, and I still can't fly. Everybody is here to help, so if you have any question, ask away.

Wouldn't knowing that you can LD be a pretty HUGE step into getting your mind to feel confident in yourself, making it way easier to get subsequent LDs ?

That's why I'm eager for my first semi-LD. I've been improving Dream recall recently though, and it probably makes my subconcius more confident (Since I read that it was important and all).

Recall is very important, it helps develop skills for LDing such as dreamsigns, recalled dreams also keep you very aware of your active mind during sleep ie:how many times have you had a powerful dream (good or bad) and had it on your mind all day?

Plus if you had no recall how would you know if you have been LDing? Id say you probably have had LDs already and have just forgotten(I think all people have personally). Now that youre remembering better you should expect some results.
