Problems on trying to wake up from dreams.

I have been waking up from dreams (specially nightmares) for a long time, even before I find out about lucidity in dreams. I have now become lucid 2 times and in the last one I tryed to wake up because I had a meeting in the morning (I had already awaked with my alarm but I slept again ) so when I tryed I had to make a big effort and false awakned 2 times before I managed to be really awakened.

This may sound a bit strange but does anyone have any tips on how to wake up?
      ZzzzzZZzzz....

try closing your eyes (dream body eyes)

try shouting aloud "I am waking up now"

this may sound a bit crazy especially from a newb to the site ...but when i was little i first started awakening from dreams by one of the 2 ways...the first i used to headbut anything 3 times counting out loud and the 3rd time i would awaken..a bit weird but works...after i got older i just figured out that if i just commit suicide i awake always...this works especially in nightmares...just simply run into the tornado or the chasing bear.

if ur still having the problem

Hey i had the same problem when i was little and i always had these nightmares, i taught myself how to wake up. just stop what ever you are doing in the dream and cover your eyes with your dream hands, when you lift them up you may be awake, worked for me for years
The trick is to combine your waking rational abilities with the infinite possibilities of your dreams. Because, if you can do that, you can do anything.

thats cool, but you could also use that to actually to go Lucid and make the nightmare go away, as soon as you realize that nothing bad is happening
I can't say I really know anything about what you're talkinga bout , but I said plausible because of that incredibly cool blind spot trick .

      hi, it's me, Hydraat
I find that when i'm having a nightmare, especially a lucid one, you have to wake up completely. I mean get up, grab a drink of water, or vodka what ever you chose. I sometimes find myself slipping back into the same dream if i don't completely wake up, like those guys in the dream are waiting for me. Sometimes it's just a psychic attack, which can be very traumatic, so you have to be careful when disspelling psychic vampires, which are just nightmares that won't leave the club;(your mind's eye.)
      hope that helps ya pal!

When I wasa kid I would open and close my eyes as hard as I could, it would often wake me up, though some FAs

I actually was having a semi lucid and a bunch of scary stuff was happening to me, so I had to keep killing stuff, but anyway, I had just killed some vampires or soemthing in my front yard, so I went inside with me fried who I had saved and we heard ymy dad say soemthing, so we both flew up to my second floor and went in the room and I pulled the sheets of the bed and he wasnt there, and I new it was goign to be seomthing ba about to happen, so I started to go to where that bathrrom was , and the door was open, and I knew IT(from the movie IT, the clown) was going to be around the door and he pooped out and I just grabbed his head and it exploded, so I then had a FA

I woke up and I was like, huh, I wonder if Im still dreaming, so I looked at my hand and I could see through some of my fingers(I was under the sheets where I woke up) and I was like hmmm, should I try to wake myself up incase this turns into a semi nightmare, or should I try to have a lil fun? So I decided to try to summon someone, and I heard a door in my house open and close, then I woke up for real..
      .
Anyway, didn't tell me how to wake up, but I thought it was funny since I thought about this thread in the dream.
