Wohoo.... 2nd LD of the new year -- and all in the same month!

Interesting thing I noticed on last nights LD:
I found myself in that "sleep/wake zone" - I was feelin some tingly sensations, illusion of heightened sense of sound (from hypnogogia) and the loss of sense to my body. I realized I was set up nicely to try WILD again.

Now in my previous WILD, I remembered that I kept thinking of my surroundings - my bed, night stand, window - basically my bedroom. After a few minutes, I started to "see" these surroundings, even though I knew I was in the process of doing WILD, therefore couldn't be seeing since my eyes were closed! That's when I simply "got up" from my bed, and entered the dream.

THIS time, I purposely tried the same thing. Just sat there and kept reminding myself that I was in my room - didn't think about any other dreamscape or wild fantasy world. Next thing I remember is I'm walking out of my bedroom and towards the stairs. Strange thing, I actually "felt" I was dreaming! I was hovering over the landing, then drifted down towards my front door - this while thinking "I will open this door and be in (a particular setting I wanted) ". The thought sort of worked, it wasn't exactly the setting I wanted, but close. Of course, this made me become even MORE lucid. Was pissed that I still can't get the control I want - but the rest of the lucid was very very interesting. It seemed to take place in the span of a few days. Had some very interesting conversations to which I can't even recall a single word (fucking HATE when that kind of thing happens!!)

In Summary:
I believe the act of keeping myself "grounded" just a bit into reality by keeping in mind the situation I was in while falling asleep (lying in bed) was just enough to keep me from "slipping" into a dream. Since I was in an expected and ordinary setting when I DID enter the dream, I was able to "keep my cool" or awareness long enough to feel the difference between being awake and dreaming. Might be something for you kiddies to try sometime.
