      best/strangest flying experience

Flying is always one of the top subjects in any dream disscussion. so i wanted to hear one of your best/strangest flying exprience.

mine would have to be flying at about the altitude and speed of a commercial plane all the way to jamaca. nothing else strange happend during this dream just me flying the whole time untill i arrived at my location.

ive also had spiderman's powers a few times, this isnt techniquely flying but it gives you a helll of a rush!

i've wanted spidey powers for awhile you lucky devil

my coolest flying experience is a toss up between the following:

      1. i flew above my backyard at about 50 feet, and a voice said "look down". i did to find the neighborhood flooded except for the roofs. i swept down and skimmed over the top of the water, my feet slapping on the water as i laughed with delight.

      2. i was weakly hovering and decided to try the "lotus position" flying technique i had heard about that week. as soon as i crossed my legs i rocketed upwards at a dizzying pace, clear out of the atmosphere, until the earth was only a speck...soon i saw it coming back into my field of vision from the opposite direction (must have traversed the entire universe ), but woke up before i made re-entry

My strangest flying experience actually happens regularly in non-lucids. I stand on one foot and put the other leg straight out and start spinning. After a moment, I just start lifting up into the air. I think I rationalize it as some kind of oscillating harmonic imbalance, but I never catch it as a dream sign. Also, in some dreams, I run on all fours, like an ape. I can jump really high and far this way, and it feels a lot like flying. Flying never works as a dreamsign for me. I'm always like: "Hey, look! I really can fly!" Sometimes I think I'm too open-minded for my own good.

Well, actually my best flying experience was "learning" how to fly.

I stood on a plain and I was watching the sky. I said to myself I will learn to fly. I made a step and then a second one (like if there would be invisible stairs). the third step missed it's stepped and I fell down on the ground. I tried severel times (several nights actually) and it didn't work. So I tried running and jumping from a cliff and stuff like that (that helped me create thing in my dreams).

But I managed to fly only when I created my own stairs in our house. I jumped down from the top and I found myself in the air. It felt so good. I was so excited that it woke me up and I remember falling down on the last steps.

The next lucid dream I was able to fly and it felt awesome. At first I was afraid of falling but I overcome this.

Now I can fly whereever I want but it's not that exciting as the first tries.

      Ah, I love flying dreams!

My best one to date was when I was flying over a field of wildflowers out in the country. The sky was a clear, opaline blue, and I could feel the warmth of the sun on my back as I flew. Below me, the brightly colored wildflowers rippled in the light summer breeze. I breathed deep and smelled the fresh, clean air as I soared along, arms wide. I had such a feeling of happiness and contentment in that dream.

Well, I was speaking about the best XP. but not about the strangest. Well I have one more. I wanted to forget this one...but grr..it came to my memory now with other lucid dreams I had.

I had one epic dream about myself and other adventurers. (setting: imagine a fantasy world like Forgotten Realms from Dungeons and Dragons). My main character (me) is fighter/mage. On day the party arrived to a waterfall. There was a small cave in the middle of the rock. (sorry I'm not good at description...you are standing on bottom of the waterfall, you look up and behind the waterfall in the rock you can see the cave.) We had to get there because there was one person living who could help us. But he didn't want to come to us. so we decided to ge there.

It was my task with our barbarian. (my character is able to levitate - innate ability but not to fly). We started to climb up...when we almost reached the place the person in the came showed up and started tossing some stones at us. I my hand got hit and I couldn't continue in climbing up (nor down). I was stuck. The barbarian continued...

[now it is the part where I get really scared, confused and I didn't know what to do...and I wasn't sure if I just let go of that hold that I would stay in the air floating.....]

It was decided...my other hand was to weak and I started falling down..I was so confused and desoriented that I couldn't come up with my levitation ability...but I finally managed it .

(I think this counts to one of my scariest experiences. But I have worse ones...)

My best flight was my only lucid flight dream, way better than my normal dream flights. I fly up the stairway in a house and out the window, then up and up into the sky, and I'm flying among these floating pieces of land that looked like they'd been torn from the ground and thrown into the air. Some have castles and ruins on them. I swoop among and around them for a little bit, and then it the sky darkens and it's night. And throughout the flying space there were these bright multicolored lights, as if a fireworks finale had gone off and frozen in time. So I flew through those lights and the swirling gases among the floating islands, imagining I was floating among stars and nebulae. And then it hits me that, this is all show and pretty lights, I want to see what space is really like. So I fly away, farther and farther into the black. The layers of colored mist and lights gradually become less dense, until they peter out and I'm just flying through this endless void. And then in the darkness I wake up to closed eyelids.

I should have stuck to the lights!

My best flying dream was actually this lucid dream: the only mid-air fight I've had.

      "Interceptor"

Well, I've been awake for about 14 hours now, so I can hardly remember a thing.

I remember gaining lucidity about 2 or three times during the night. I don't think either of them had RC's, I simply remembered to realize when I'm dreaming, and I did. At some point, I remember flying. I'd planned to get to the sun so I can complete the advanced lucid task, (which was to fly to the sun, break off a peice, and bring it back to Earth) and I was flying higher than I think I ever have. It was daytime, and there was a lot of huge white clouds set against a bright blue sky. I don't remember too much of the flight, but I remember being intercepted by someone before I was able to reach the atmosphere. I don't know who this guy was, but we started fighting in mid-air for some unknown reason. I remember him either kicking or punching me downward at a 45 degree angle that it sent me down toward the earth like a meteor. I was able to gain a pretty good amount of flight control, which is a good improvement for me, and I was able to skim my back a few inches above the ground and come to a smooth hover, looking up as the guy came down toward me. I don't remember too much of the fight near the ground, but I remember pulling off a move that I did in one of my recent nightmare-turn-lucid dreams. I grabbed him by the throat, jumped into the air with my other hand cocked back and spiked him down toward the ground with my fist like a volleyball. He wasn't able to right himself and slammed into the ground, making a crater in the earth that swallowed him beneath the settling rocks. I think I tried to make my way back up to the sun after that, but I don't remember anything else.
