      ld and forgetting

Ok, here is my dream and I also have a question after it:

Alright, so, before I went to bed I did some meditating and told myself I will have a lucid dream and it will involve this girl. So I went to bed, I digitalized in the dream world. Immediatly, I materialized, I was with Ed, Edd, and Eddy from the cartoon on Cartoon Network. It was amazing. I said to myself "This is a dream" and imediatly began to seek out the girl I talked of before. This girl is a beautiful girl with blonde hair, tight ass, med-sized boobs, and is my dream girl.

Amazingly she was there, where is there you ask? Well, I am in the dream world, in a pen of some sort, most likely for horses. She had her arms resting on the top of the wooden white fence. She had one foot resting on the bottom bar of the fence, and she had a cowboy hat on. Suprisingly, she was already in the dream and I did not have to try to summon her. I decided we would take a walk down the street. My little brothers and sisters where following us, and I tried to get them to stay, but they would not.

So, at first we tried to escape them on scooters and then on bikes. Somewhere along the line I tried to summon something, but it would not coem. I also recall her being shirtless, for some odd reason. Strangely enough, I lost my lucidity and began to bike around on a wooded route in the trees. I lost the girl, now I was not looking for her, and was trying to get home. I was high atop the trees, big giant 300 foot tall pines, with wooded roads strung around them. It was an amazing forest of some magic.

I looked off into the distance. I saw what was an amazing landscape. Nothing but hills, trees, valleys, farm feilds, and in the far off distance, huge mountains rose. They where majestic and the most beautiful mountains on earth. Some how I was drawn to them, they just seemed like it was somewhere that I wanted to go. In the dream, I didn't go there but continued throught the trees. Occasionaly the roads stopped and there where huge wooded platforms with wooden shanties. I recall being chased or something and then my dream shifted twords the strange.

I had a map of some sort and felt sad, I was trying to get home but couldn't get to it. SOme how The dream went to the city. I was trying to get somewhere and I remember myself, a girl, and a guy being together. We where travelling. Some of the sites I remember where being stuck in a car or something, waiting for someone to come back. I also remember looking across the black street to see a building side, it was tan and had an advertisement on it. I also remember it being christmas and a kid with divorced parents woke to find a tree and presents.

One more thing was trying to cram a train full of those little green aliens from Toy Story. And something about a lawyer in an office.

[b]Ok, so in my dreams, often when I have LDs (like 5-6 times a week) I figure out I am dreaming but through the course of the dream I somehow forget that I am dreamign and continue the dream as it was. Does this happen to anyone else?

My first lucid was like that. Lot of people forget.... the key to not forgetting is when you immediately know that you are dreaming you need to focus on that thought immediately and really think about it and feel your surroundings. Once you feel stable then you can move.

When you gain licidity. Sit there and think about it for a second. consider what that means. You are not you, you are just a thought, nothing in the whole world is real, remember that the things that happen arent real and you can control this as little or as much as you want. Your dream will try to get you to forget that you are dreaming if you let it.
So just take a second and relax and you will be fine.

I always lose my lucidity after a very short time if I dont take a step back and think about it.

Try and focus on what you're doing, if you have decent control. Just take a step back and think to yourself, 'wow, this is a dream; awesome' and just keep focusing on the world around you and remember that it's all in your head. Try not to drift back into the action that you do in real life and just take things as they are. Actually notice all the little things and appreciate what your mind can create.

If you do all these things it shouldn't be easy to forget you're in a dream

      On the back burner

Ive actually had some times where I become lucid, but it's more of a realization in the back of my mind. The fact that I'm lucid isn't the main thought, I am more focused on what is going on around me I feel like the dream is real life, but then I will encounter something and without missing a beat I will think something like "well I am dreaming so I can fly over this canyon."

So, it's like I forget that I am lucid until I get to some instance in my dream that supercedes reality, then I realize that I had known that I was lucid the whole time without actively thinking about it. I really like it, because it feels like real life both during the normal situations and the instances where I need to do some superhuman act.
Why does the eye see more clearly in dreams than the imagination when awake?

Yeah, everyone slips in and out of Lucidity during dreams. I'm still no pro at it, but I've finally gotten over that first initial excitement and I can usually stablize and keep lucid for awhile when I have an LD. I usually utilize the rubbing hands technique to keep me lucid and I remind myself every few minutes that I am dreaming. I try to always keep my hands rubbing and also to not get too wrapped up in the action around me.
