Question DCs Attack Me When I Become Lucid...

I've noticed that when I become lucid and try to do something u wouldn't normally do in real life (and go to jail for) - like flying (haha!) - they start to attack me!! What they hey? Does anyone know why this happens or how to stop/prevent this?

Does anyone else have this happen?

It's like a real place... not like they are DCs... if you know what i mean...

I'm afraid this happens to me too. One time i walked up to this stunning car called a Java and as i am about to get in this guy comes out of a house and is walking towards me not looking in the best mood then we end up fighting. (perhaps it was his car)

This also happens sometimes for no apparent reason, it happens because you are changing the course of the dream so your sub-conscious then interferes with your lucid dream to get the message across to you it was trying to deliver.

This is starting to come up often enough that I wonder what is going on and what the cause of it is. Yes, I do know what you mean.

My DC's become violent or hostile when I try to acknowledge them as real entities and ask them questions. I haven't noticed it just when I try to fly or something, or even when I do something to them--just when I try to question them.

I think it's when you have a low lucidity level, and your concious sees that you're doing bad things and you punish yourself I guess by making the DCs attack you.

I agree with the low lucidity thing. I find that in my gems of lucid control, nothing is impossible. But in my low levels I'll sometimes have the overpowering urge to fly as high as possible because I feel that someone is going to try and grab me from below. The most important and very first task that should be done at the moment of becoming lucid, in my view, is to ground yourself and increase your clarity. I make it a point to take in as much detail as possible and even review the basic concepts of dream control, even if I've done it a billion times before.

VERY interesting, who would have thought... This does make sense

I might be not in my place to say this (since I had only 2 short LD's), if I were you I would just blast them with a fireball or something...

I'm kind of opposite with the level of lucidity--if it's low, the DC's are like regular people; but if it is high and I concentrate on them, they become hostile.

Whenever I go lucid I forget about my dream characters and they basically stop existing and if they are still there they stop doing everything. It's as if they were a video game character with an AI glitch.

You could kill the characters, but ignoring them is faster.

This actually happened to me on 12/6 (I was 20) of last year. I was stressed out over seeing a $100,000 bonus round win on Wheel of Fortune the night before. I did some bad things that morning, resulting in me being messaged. And what happened later that night? I dreamt where a Japanese villain had kidnapped young American women and I was trying to get the heck out of his way (as he was being fought by his archnemesis, the hero of the dream, whose nationality is also Japanese). I believe this was trying to tell me that one of my favorite subjects in U.S. history to learn about since I was 12 was about to celebrate its 65th anniversary, and that would be the Attack on Pearl Harbor.

Now I gotta watch what I do sometimes to avoid dream characters attacking like the example above...

This hasn't happened to me, but after reading this thread, I bet it will ... Although DCs in my lucids are few and far between.

I had my first random DC show upin an LD last night (Other than the ones I summon myself - they don't count)

I was walking on a cliff's edge through a forest and the ground was covered with snakes for some reason, then I walked around a tree and was startled by a man walking with a lizard-man (like an iksar for those of you that played EQ ). For some reason he instantly sent a fireball in my direction I sent one towards him as well and managed to kill him just as his hit me and then I woke up and couldn't re-enter it

Last night I was fully lucid and in god mode and a dream character attacked me. The little bastard tried to bite me. I snapped his neck like a twig and he fell on the ground dead. It was funny. Dream characters annoy me.

      Read BillyBob's "Schemata" thingy.

I'm seeing exactly what BillyBob was talking about in his Dream Control tutorial about schemata. I don't have the link and you probably don't really wanna read it that much since it's really long, so i'll try to break it down short fo' y'all.

      Schemata = rules.

In waking life, everything you see/hear/say/do/etc. Lays down schemata for your dreams.

      He used this awesome analogy:

When you're dreaming, your entire dream is based on a random image vomited from your memory.

A dull gray line that looks like a boulder.
Schemata: boulders are made of rock.
      It's a rock.
Schemata: rocks can be on mountains.
You're on a mountain next to a rock.
      Schemata: Mountains have sheep.
You're on a mountain next to a rock with sheep all around you.
      Schemata: Sheep needs shepherds.
You're on a mountain next to a rock with sheep and a shepherd.
Schemata: That sounds like a bible tale I read.
      They're all singing about God.

So anyway, he went on saying that whatever one person posts about his PERSONAL dream problems, others read, and therefore, that's added to their list of limits.

So what i'm trying to say is that the only thing making your DC's attack you is you.

You're expecting them to attack you, so they do.
Just take that belief that the DC's don't want you to be lucid, and throw it out the window.
