Ok so this just happened last night, but first let me give you a little backround on myself:
Since I first found this site I've been working on improving my dream recall, as it is the first step in becoming lucid (for me atleast). I have also started keeping a dream journal. For the last week, I have been waking up (naturally- no alarm or anything used) atleast once of twice in the middle of the night after my dreams and recording them in my dream journal.
So now back to the main point of this thread.
My friend and I just got back from Superman returns (great movie, btw) and it was about one in the morning so I decided to just crash at his house. He slept on his bed, and I slept in a sleeping bag on his floor. I fell asleep, and because my body/mind has been trained to do so, I woke up in the middle of the night but this time I kept my eyes closed and I didn't move my body at all. I concentrated on getting back in my dream. Instead of going back into my dream though, I woke up and was laying on my friend's bed. This was my reality check/dream sign because I knew I was sleeping on the floor in his room, not on his bed. I immediately became lucid. Remembering that I had to stabalize my dream, I take a good hard look at my hands. I get out of my friend's bed and my friend isn't even in the room so that was another reality check for me. At this point I was pretty damn excited about the state I was in, but I was bored of being in the room. So I decided to jump through the window, to try and be in a new place, at which point I woke up
Looking back on it, there were somethings I should have done, but I didn't. I should have stayed in the room at little longer, picked up some of the things in my friends move and generally just get a feel for this new state of mind. I guess I was just so excited about being lucid I forgot some very important key steps.
Well there's my story. Happy dreaming
