FIRST TIME LUCID DREAMERS!! (this is my idea)

This is for the people who have just had their First Lucid Dream.. I think it would be cool if this could be sticky'd for all those who have just had their First Lucid Dream..For them to explain what they did to help themselves get to the point of having their FIRST LD, and what it felt like, and what they did, etc..So that the other people who have yet to have their first LD, can look at this and get advice from some people who have had only 1 LD. Because i think that people that have had many LD's, come up with techniques or you know they have like a certain thing that helps them LD.. I think the first timers should post on this and explain how long it took them to get their first LD and give their own advice, and not the obvious advice like keeping a Dream Journal and lookin for Dream Signs..

This is pretty much for the FIRST TIME LDers to help get the people who have yet get an LD to the point where they can realize they are dreaming..Because like me I have had about 62 LD's in about 1 yr and 1 month...Experienced Lucid Dreamers are past the beginning stage, I think the beginners should help the Trying with it because maybe the Experienced Lucid Dreamres techniques are different from the Beginners Techniques..

So please tell me what you think of my idea

      thanks

      lucid

i have had two dreams where i was aware that i was dreaming and i actually used reality checks but the awareness only lasted seconds...this has probably not been the first two times but i have not remembered any other times.

though i dream in colour, my dreams are more like movies than actually "through my eyes" only somtimes i see through my own perpective or "eyes"
My current DREAM is to LUCID DREAM! I'm a beginner...any tips??

      My dream

I Was reading about lucid dreaming yesterday on the dream views site and became very interested and couldnt stop thinking about it all day, also I read on a part of the forum about a technique that someone had used.

This included counting untill you fall asleep with the words "I am dreaming" inbetween each Number. I tryed this last night and didnt get any success but after I woke up I tried it again and It was strange how it went from me counting to then falling asleep.

After this I DID have a lucid dream, and i was in full control of my dream.
I remember realising that i was in a dream because i had six fingers which i had also read in a forum that day.
I had read on the forum to focus on my hand and try to recognize every detail on the palm of my hand thinking that my head is making it all up, but when i was doing it i was starting to get confused and parts of my hand and arm started dissapearing.

So after i had finished with that i continued controlling my dream untill about half way through when it became a third person sort of view instead of through my eyes and i could no longer control it.

I was quite pleased that i was able to LD on the first nights sleep pf knowing about it!

The idea is great, but there's already a sticky in the general discussion section where you can post your first ever Lucid Dream, though I guess this is a bit different, as this is the first induced Lucid Dream, and you also explain how you first got lucid, not just tell the dream.

In mine I did a self-hypnosis, following the HILD tutorial, and kept a DJ for a bit, at which point I had an LD after a few days, though I don't remember the dream itself.

SILD (sofa induced lucid dreams.. lol)

I joined less than two weeks ago, so I've had a few LDs now, but I'm still a beginner...

The first night I was able to induce LDs, it was hot in my room and so I slept on the sofa in my living room instead. I had 4 lucids that night! When I posted about it, a few people commented that people tend not to sleep as deeply on the couch, perhaps making my lucid dreams come more easily. I've had a couple more during nap time on the sofa as well. So, that's pretty unscientific, but it worked for me! (Obviously, I was using *other* techniques as well, I just think this might have facilitated the dreams.)

my first lucid dream came during a nap. It was very short, and i woke up almost immediatly after i became lucid. I had been trying to induce lucids and sometimes i would just sorta plan out that i would nap in hopes of having one.

I went to sleep incubating the thought of lucid dreaming and suddenly realised that i was walking aimlessly down a wal-mart parking lot with pretty much everyone i know walking in the opposite direction of me, looking at me weird. I remembered where i had been before my first memory of the parking lot, and i used the breathing through the nose reality check and became lucid. After that the scenery changed to a murky grey/storm cloud grey and i noticed that i was rising and i could see some color in my pants and my shoes. After that i was floored with excitement and woke up.

The moment i became lucid i was actually aware of my body, and felt it buzzing. Sort of like while your WILDing, or while in SP. I think that is what woke me up. The next time i become lucid, i will have to remember not to think abou my body.

My first LD also happened on a couch i was home alone for the week so i slept on the couch. One morning after a late night i woke up after sleeping about 4 or 5 hours so i got up and started about my day as i normally would. i walked the dog had a shower....yadda yadda. then i decided to lie down on the couch to watch tv but i noticed myself falling asleep so i played along. I was not fully asleep i kept waking up and waking up then i moved my eyes up while closed and i heard this wierd noise a loud buzzing and i was feeling extreme vibrations then all of a sudden it stopped and i found myself lying on the couch and i knew i was dreaming. In my dream i got up from the couchand floated myself through the door i was very excited but i knew excitement would wake me up so i calmed myself down...anyway i floated meself through the front door and while outside i was looking at myslef sleeping on the couch throug the window (which i think could be an out of body experience) i continued floating and found myself in a large harbour or dock and i basically just floated around my whole dream then i woke up after what felt like ten minutes.

i was so happy to have a LD especially after 3 months of hardcore practise

After when my family came back from vacation, they said they went to many docks on vacation and we all thought it was wierd that i went to a dock in my dream
