I've been losing my ability to lucid here lately & not sure whats wrong but I had a strange thing happen to me this morn'n that I was curious about.

I hear my cell phone go off for my alarm & get up to turn it off. I go about my regular routine in the morn'n. I get to work & check my e-mails, so on & so forth. Next thing I know, I'm lying in bed. Than i'm like, wtf just happened? I look at my cell phone & it's 8:51 (I have to be at work @9&#33 Everything in the dream that I can remember was absolutly just like waking life, how people were, talked, what I did, etc. I had no idea I was dreaming therefore I couldn't go lucid I have no idea what point I really woke up the first time, or maybe I didn't & just dreamt of waking when my phone went off. It was off when I really woke. Can my mind be so used to waking at that time that I can shut it off in my sleep & not realize it? My boss was freak'n pissed & obviously dosen't believe this but luckily I still have my job! Any help would be great.

If you leave your phone close enough to your bed that you can reach it without getting out of bed, then Yup.
Studies show many (if not all) of us wake up, numerous times during the night, but it is so subtle and short-lived, that we often forget it even happened, by the time we wake up. I know I've shut my alarm clock off, more than once, and fell back to sleep, without realizing it.

I've always been intrigued by FAs! I mean, it's really amazing how our mind can recreate waking life so thoroughly and make us believe its the real deal!
Considering LDs aren't yet accepted by "mainstream" people (either by skepticism or just plain ignorance), i wouldn't really recommend you bring up LDs the next you're late!!

Hey roadrash_140, a good idea would be to make your alarm longer, if you can, so it wakes you up more instead of letting you "dream you wake".
