I found myself in an exhilarating dream.
Castles, Knights a great medieval scene. I was fighting and I felt like a warrior. It was a great dream.
I became aware that I could or should not be able to be throwing these gargantuan Spears. That was the sign that led me to my lucidity.
Oddly though it was to my dismay.
I don't want to go into great detail about my thought processes, ones that carry over into conscious sleep. But I am quite frankly tired of F*$^@* up my dreams. My gosh dang analytical train of thought.
      Why can't I let go?

I fell in an out of lucidity to ultamitly wake up anyway.

even if you were lucid, you could still go with the flow and continue hurling giant spears... being lucid just makes it that much more fun... in that you know no fear.

So it would seem, wouldn't it.
I had no fear before I became lucid.
After becoming lucid I still had no fear, But I now know the laws of physics. Which I can't seem to cast aside.
      I have tried several variations.

perhaps you should try to teach your conciousness to cast aside the laws of physics while dreaming... after all, you must have flown at one time or another... from what i've read, it's the most common thing for LDer's to try.

Thank you BTW for your responses.

Oddly enough it has been a slow progression. You would think that it would work in reverse.
I have had amax=zing lucid dreams. Those I can remember and have journaled cannot be taken away from me.
A transition of sorts has taken place. Some condition process I must be unaware or incapable of understanding must be playing a role.
My level of consciousness retracts a lot if not all of the surrealism to my dreams. As if the laws from the waking world coming flooding in with my lucid awareness.
I can't seem to shake it.
It is like going outside at this instance and trying to fly

      WHeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew FLOP!

      Some past experiences --> Journal
      Sleep consciousness

interesting... here's a suggestion... re-affirm to yourself that you are in a dream and that anything is possible in the dream. re: the normal laws of physics need not apply. It's like when you were a kid... believe in santa, and on christmas day, you see presents in you stockings and under the christmas tree.

Howetzer - I can imagine the problem. Its a fine line isn't it? I.e., my best dreams are the vivid epics where I am lucid enough to be in full control of myself, and perhaps bend physics a little where necessary, but not so in control that there is no fear at all, no challenge etc... God-like lucidity gets boring and tiring.

But are you asking how to stay dreaming in a fantasy world when you have become lucid? Are you saying that when lucid your analytical conscious mind suddenly insists that everything obeys the laws of physics?
If that's it, then you have my full sympathies! That would be a f^&*%$g nightmare!!!!

If you think you know physics and that this is the analytical bit you want to put reigns on - you could try turning some of those assumptions on their head by studying String Theory, or better, M Theory. I found it to be so completely incomprehensible, but also so very compelling with its internal logic, that somehow the world just got mysterious again!!! Quantum Mechanics and Relativity Theory are bad enough - but to hear that everything is just strings of energy (and they still haven't explained what that is) vibrating in 10 dimensions - WTF? Especially when I don't even believe in the 4th dimesion, time, as anything other than a concept - I mean surely there's only NOW?

If you've already studied string theory and understand it, then you're screwed mate!

      Perhaps try LSD?

I concur... except with the god-like lucidity part.... I would have endless fun screwing with DCs... changing night to day, turning the sky green, and the grass blue... making heads spontaneously explode and watching people react to that, creating beautiful scenery, an aurora borealis as grand as can be, destroying the earth, creating a new planet... I would go all-out with it.

Hi have tried Saliva divinorum. I have done experimenting with..uuuh all of the above at some point.
      I would prefer different route.
HEY! Didn't becominbcomodango tell you the string theory is a load of crap?
Yes. It seems like you, slimslowsliderunderstand where I am coming from. Stated very well in your first paragraph.

I have a rudimentary understanding of the above theories but I am far from completely getting my head around all or much of it.

See this is different than trying to believe in Santa clause ..again. It does not work to reinstitute a belief once it has become false.
However, I know that there are no structural boundaries in a dream. That is why I am frustrated and would love to go back to some of that endless fun.

then use the logical reasoning "I was able to _______ while non-lucid, thus I should also be able to _______ while lucid too."

      That actually makes some sense.

      I will prevail.

I kind of have the same problem but i think i'm the opposite. Whenever I become lucid the laws of physics usually disapear or become warped. Gravity will disapear, I'll shoot up into the sky without control, and other stuff. I think my problem is that all of my thoughts at the back of my head become commands. Even the ones I don't want to be.

Maybe that can be related to your problem. Unintentionally commanding things to be normal and follow rules.

you can only overcome it, when you remember how to be a kid. only when you remember that, will you be able to do what ya want when ya want. those who forget how to be a kid, loose the ultimate key to dreams. i won't have a problem with this, because i never forgot.

you just need to find where your kid went, and you won't have any other problems. i know where mine is, the question is where did yours go?

Start small at first, try bending the rules all you need to remember is that here or in the dream world
Impossible is only that which we have yet to imagine. Just look to the past and all of the things that was thought impossible and how its thought to be simple and mundane now.

Use the scientific mind, its how I adapted to the dreaming.
First remember that you are in a non physical world. Its laws are different, the rules can be pushed. Your thoughts have a much more pronounced effect.

It sounds alot like how my dreams are, I will have a slight inkling of how something isint right but I dont pester that thought because it usualy destabilizes the dream when I do actually become fully lucid.
I prefer the adventure too, Im not sure if being a god would be fun for long. Try focusing on the environment around you and then letting your mind relax think to yourself that wherever you are its your reality, experiment and just remember you might be exerting the wrong muscles

I think lordalmar is on the right track too just use that imagination! Come up with creative and bizzare ways around your limitations.
"A knight is sworn to valor.
      His heart knows only virtue.
      His blade defends the helpless.
      His might upholds the weak.
      His word speaks only truth.
      His wrath undoes the wicked."

Impossible is only that which has yet to be imagined

      Thanks every one.
Funny I would have to re institute lucid dreaming methods after all this.
Ignorance was bliss in that case. The more I analyzed things the more my right brain seemed to take control. I need to share a bit with my left hemisphere, subconscious, dream mind --what ever you wish to call it.

I plan on posting here soon on my next surreal lucid dream!
