Heres 2 dreams I had from last night: My teacher from 9th grade came over and had dinner with me and someone at a random house, idk whos house it was, and we watched a video on lucid dreaming. wtf I didnt become lucid.

dream 2: There was some american-idol like stage set up with a bunch of people dancing around in front and i started talking to one kid and he said "so are you a WILDer or do you like DILDs?" ....um wtf didnt become lucid.

I usually have DILD's due to Reality checks... how do you recognize dreamsigns and become lucid that way, how do you prepare yourself?

I just figured out my dreamsign yesterday, actually. I'm surprised I didn't see it before now- little girls. Like 5 years old or something. In a good percentage of my dreams I either: a) am a little girl; b) rescuing a little girl; c) just talking to a little girl.
So every time I see a little girl I do an RC.

lol cuz all my dreamsigns are usually wierd, strange things that I dont see in everyday situations... so I dont know how im supposed to prepare for looking for things like that in a dream.

be more observant while awake, not much to it really. get good enough, and the weird and strange won't fool you anymore.

the things that seem the most abstract in dreams dont seem abnormal though... so i guess your right, but how do you become more observant?

lots of practice for one. having the right mind set helps also. it is natural for me, been this way my whole life. just pay close attention to the world around you, and your enviroment. its not that easy to explain, it just somthing you have to learn with practice really.

A great question I'm still searching for my dreamsigns too.

I highly suggest to keep a dream journal, even if you hate writing you can make a dream journal on this site or on a blog. They say it helps you find dreamsigns via things that tend to happen often in your dreams or appear in them.

I haven't been keeping one long enough to find mine yet, though I have found it easier to pick apart what was inspired in my dreams by real life events. Oh, and unless you have really good dream recall I suggest writing/making an entry in your dream journal as soon as you wake up since most people forget the majority of their dreams later on in the day.

Good luck with those dream signs

yeah I have a dream journal... i usually get 2-3 dreams a night, the only problem is I cant recognize what my reccurent dream signs are. I even categorize the dreamsigns I get at the end of each dream and nothing seems to happen more then once... usually.

Good question - how to become more aware?

There's been many posts in this area before - a recent one was: The Fatal Flaw with RCs

The answer seems to be to practice using the senses and practice being present centred - easier said than done though! Sounds like some ninja meditation techniques might be handy...

Last night I had a dream where I met a character who said: "I've been assigned to you, to tell you when you are dreaming and when you are not." Did I get it? Did I fcuk!

Woah, I don't know whether you believe in them or not, but it sounds like you found your DreamGuide

How about focusing on a one time thing that's already happened in your waking life, before sleeping?

ie: I graduated from high school in october 2006 and I miss seeing all my friends together. I've only had two lucid dreams, the cause of them being that I was dreaming of being back at school again and seeing so many people I miss. So, school has become a dreamsign for me - whenever I dream of school, I know that I'm dreaming.

The best dream sign that everybody has is the jumping-abnormally-high/flying dreamsign. Works everytime but it unfortunately doesn't occur much, like once a week/two weeks. The unwillingness of dying while falling forces me to realize that I'm dreaming !

Could of been. But I didn't realise I was dreaming - he was just some guy I met in a bar!

With regards to belief - sort of... I reckon the sub-/unconscious (higher self?) provides them for you if you need them. I've had various 'dream guides' appear over the years, but very rarely do they appear the same - so I'm not sure if its one guide or several. Whatever... usually the lessons are great, and funny/ ironic - mainly about dreaming but also deeper psychological stuff (usually my normal DCs in my normal dreams do this latter just fine). I would like to believe (and have in the past) that dream guides somehow come from outside, but am going through a rational phase of life!

Another missed dreamsign - last night I dreamed I looked in a mirror and had no head! I was about to go find my friends and show them this neat trick, when I began to wonder if it wasn't just the angle of the mirror. I tried adjusted my coat and the mirror, but still could only just see the top of my head, even if I stood on tip toes. Did I get it? Yet again... did I fcuk

Bohman - I wish this were true! Flying is pretty much my normal mode of dream transport - but like the no head thing, I still (usually) just don't get it! I do LD alot (primarily DILDs) - but its just a general sense of unreality rather than specific dreamsigns. Flying does encourage this - but only sometimes.

So - I have started doing some ninja-style perceptual enhancement exercises to see if it affects DILD frequency - will keep y'all posted!

Man I know exactly what you mean about not being observant enough. That is the exact problem that I'm having. It's like nothing is out of the ordinary when it clearly is, and I'm just along for the ride. In last nights dream, I was watching TV and some people were unloading luggage off of this ship in some show. Next thing I know, I'm helping them cary the luggage off the ship lol. I didn't even realize that I just went from sitting in a room watching TV, to walking off of a ship on some tropical island.

Thats like me once, I was driving a car with my girlfriend next to me, when I looked away and looked at her again she turned into my moms, and I was like "Hey have you seen Cindy?" <without even doing a reality check

But this one is even worse:
Last night I was dreaming that I looked in my dream journal and I was reading about when I got lucid first time. Nothin clicked in my mind, no RC nothing
