I can't seem to get them to close. I'm sure other people have had this problem and I'm curious if there's a solution to it. Any tips?

Fortunately, I am not a cat.

That would happen to me too!
But, when I start by using the Reverse Blinking method,

I have no problems.
Maybe it will help for you?

A few times I've had an experience where I'm getting close and the same thing happens. I still haven't actually gotten into an LD yet, but I found a way to stop the 'butterfly eye' effect.

For me, just concentrating fully on any sensation, visual, vibrations, whatever I'm experiencing, while vaguely trying to close my eyes, works. As long as I don't focus on it but still try to close them, it seems to go away.

By the way, funny title. I thought this was an experiencing where your eyes turned into butterflies!

Ya, I have the same exact problem. When it does happen tho I get a wicked sensation but of course an LD would be better.
An Idea. A single idea from the human mind can build cities. An idea can transform the world and rewrite all the rules.
