      Lucid, but still stupid!

A couple of nights ago, I had an LD where I was at a fair or carnival like setting.
I walked up to a stand to see what a vender was selling. It seemed
he had a variety of food, but I noticed he had beer on tap. I thought,
hey, I'll see what beer tastes like in an LD! I asked him "how much?" and
he said "3 dollars." I thought, wow that's a lot.
Now already you can see how stupid I can be in an LD, worrying about the cost
of beer in a dream. I should have just demanded the beer!! But instead, I pull
out my wallet. At this point I can feel the dream fading, and that I am getting
ready to wake up, so I start to fumble through my wallet as fast as I can, trying
to pull out three dollars, thinking "I better hurry up before I wake up" instead
of trying some kind of stabilizing method.

Usually I'm not this stupid, but some times it seems I just get caught up in
an LD like it's a reality that I have no control over, even though I'm fully aware that I'm dreaming. Even though my control is only moderately succesful, I still don't even try to control the situation.
Even though it at first made me mad when I woke up, I still had to laugh at myself fumbling through my wallet like an idiot.

      hahahaa...I feel for you.

Even when I'm lucid, I even forgot the fact that my real body is sleeping safely. Like, I was aware that I could do supernatural things in the dream, but forgot the fact that it wasn't happening in reality. I was recently getting chased in an LD by gangsters, and instead of knowing it was all fake, I instead developed better ways to run away...

I'm surprised at my lack of logic in my dreams.

But when that high lucidity comes, I'll develop full control someday.

      Hehehe, pretty funny stuff...

Sometimes your level of lucidty/awareness is not high enough to realize this sort of things, just like in a normal dream. Next time try a verbal command as soon as you realize its a dream. Shout "High Level Lucidity!!!", or stare at your hands(whatever works best for you). This might help you become more aware.

Everytime I do that or remind myself it isn't real, I feel as if my whole environment upgrades, and it all becomes more vivid and clear...
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

Well thank goodness it's not just me (being a dumb arrss in a lucid dream).

I had two in a row last night. My biggest problem though, is doing too many reality checks after I realize I am lucid. Does anyone else have that problem? It's an issue of trust. It feels so real that I have to keep on checking to make sure I'm just awake in a dream. I hate when I don't trust. I think because I'm still a new lucid dreamer myself and my lucidity is really high (otherwise, why would I be so confused). But it's the constant checking that ends the dream way too soon.

      Blissful

hehe in my lucid experiences the only RC i did was sticking my finger through some building thing just for fun to kinda "make sure" and try it out to see what it looked like

i just knew i was dreaming and didnt need to do the rc's

but i guess if it helps you to realize your in a dream then do it as many times as neccessary

Its stupid in one way because you were looking for money in a dream but kind of smart in another. Since you could remeber things cost money. Normally in a dream I would just grab it because I would forget all about how things cost money heh.

By the way looking for money might work as good for prolonging a dream. I never tried it but I thought of picking up and moving around objects in a dream to help prolong it since spinning seems to fail a lot. Also helps when you go along with the dream, I think if you had spun or something, chances are it wouldnt of worked that time anyway.

I almost never do RC's. Some times I see a dream sign and I assume right away its a dream without even checking. Seems to work pretty good. Some people who do that say they mistake real life for dreaming but it only happens if really weird things happen or your doing drugs and stuff so I think I am pretty safe.

Thats me as well. You'd be amazed at the totally retarded things I have done in LD.
I end up wasting my time completely on some stupid thing thats seems perfectly reasonable at the time. Everything from eating heaps of candy to teaching apes ballroom dancing.
I've been so lazy - someone kick me.

Hehehe, I remember that ape dream...It was pretty funny

I never perform a reality check either(or use dreamsigns for that matter) but I just somehow realize it is a dream. The funny thing I realized the other is that I always say out loud something like: Why am I doing this if this is only a dream. But I say it at the same time I think it(unlike in the waking life where you think something and then say it). It is not until I say its a dream that I realize that it is one.

Also, throughout the dream I have to remind myself its a dream several times. I use my powers and all but somehow start to loose lucidity after a while. Everytime I remind myself it all becomes very clear once again...

      AGAIN!!!!

Yep, I was lucid this morning and started to lose the lucidity. I was going to practice basketball. (it wasn't my idea, the scene just materialized. I was in a gym and a coach was handing me a basketball). I'm such a nerdy sports klutz, I thought here's a chance to practice a physical skill in an LD. The problem was the ball wasn't fully inflated, and so began a long stupid sequence trying to find a pump, trying to get it to work... ARGHHH!
I've got to develope a habit of reminding myself that I'm in control of the dream, and believing it.
