music forever lost in the memory of a dream...

last night I had probably the most vivid lucid dream I've ever had...but unfortunately my recall isn't that great. all I really remember is standing in my living room...everything was so clear, I actually said "damn". because this is what I was waiting for. the answer to the question "can lucid dreams be as real as waking life?" I wanted to find out for mySELF. I remember looking in the fridge and finding this German Black Forest cake I'd make a while back irl...hehe. but I don't remember eating any. which sucks because it was the best cake I'd ever had. and I also remember running my hand down the wall and feeling it against my hand, it was so real...a little later on I had some crazy vivid (but non-lucid)dreams, the one I liked most was where this guy was on stage, I guess it was some kind of game show. he won a lot of money, a really expensive car and a really expensive guitar. he gave me the car and the guitar, why I don't know...I don't know how to play the quitar, and I didn't in the dream either, but I tried...and it had the most amazing sound, not like a normal guitar, it sounded like...a piano almost. I tried playing these peices that I've heard, and I got pretty close I just really really wish I could remember how it sounded....that's happened a few times recently, hearing the most beautiful music and waking up...the music forever lost in the memory of a dream.

Music forever lost in memory heh, I'm inspired.

Well that sounds nice. Dreams can be quite intresting sometimes. Music in a dream never ceases to amaze me still. The perfect tones which you describe aren't strange to me. I think you'll be remembering this one for a long time.

      Ditto...

The only time I had a dream like that, I did the same. It wasn't about doing any fun stuff. It was about savoring the feeling, the intense reality of it. It is an undescriptable feeling. I just stared at everything, touched some things. I made a gravity defying jump to test if I had any powers, but it was all about the feeling.

The best(and last) thing I did before waking up was put my hand through a mirror and I got the most intense electrical, sort of "tingly", feeling I have ever had. I felt it move all over my body and empower it. it was so strong it woke me up. Then, the most gratifying feeling of peace and satisfaction...

I am very happy for your Paperdoll, it is truly a spiritual experience...
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

Hey messing with dream mirrors is fun! I do it a lot. Usually its a tingling feeling but for me its not as intense as you describe it. I usually walk through a mirror when I see one, and if not I put my face through to look at the other side.

      Hey,

Yea I've heard music in my dreams aswell it is a wonderful feeling.

One time in particular i was just falling asleep and the most beautiful music started playing and i started seeing the most amazing colours moving in time with the music. I so wanted to remember the rhythm as i had just started to learn the bass guitar but unfortunately i fell asleep and it was lost upon waking.

      Peace Sensi.

there was this other time...I think it was a couple nights before that dream, that I heard the coolest piano piece. it was pretty simple (and although I can't play the piano I can play it by ear if it's not too hard, with a little practice) I woke up and played it over and over in my head until I thought I'd memorized it. but when I got up in the morning...it was gone.

I'm a musician, guitar mostly, and I want very much to bring back some musical ideas from LDs. I've had one so far. It was an up beat jazz kind of lick that I played through several times in the dream. I woke up immediately and went to my Cakewalk software and recorded the basic riff. I'm hoping to continue "writing" this tune in the dream world and complete the composition.

Yea, I've experienced this too. I was sitting in my room and the sun was beginning to set and cast beautiful glows, through my henna and brown blankets hanging around my window, into my room. I was playing around with my guitar, and it wasn't unlike a normal session in which I sit and play. But I had come up with a nice little ditty that was so pleasing to me. My knowledge of the instrument and music in general made something that was replicable - real notes and chords. I was actually looking at my hands. But, waking up, I couldn't remember it. I actually thought to myself in the gap between the dream ending and waking "This is something I could actually turn into a very beautiful song." But I must've been trying too hard to recall because I laid there and laid there and it just slipped further away.
It was one of the most pleasurable things I've ever heard. That's what strikes me as strange about our mind. We dont' know what we like until it is presented to us in some way...you'd think we could just create music and pieces of art by our whims to see and hear everything we ever want to...

sort of. someone very important to me plays the piano, but only because I believe the piano is one of the most amazing things in this word...

so basically, yes. why do you ask?

Even though I might sound like a broken record, listen to Kalmah and Eternal Tears of Sorrow. Their ex-keyboardist Pasi Hiltula is extremely gifted, sometimes he does the solos with his keyboard and it almost sounds like a guitar solo. I know the keyboard is different from a piano, but it's the first thing that came to mind.
