      Disappointing First LD

Well, a few nights ago I had my first lucid... kinda

I suddenly realized that my surroundings didn't make any sense, and I tried sticking my finger through my palm, and it went through. I immediately remembered to rub my hands together, but at that point everything started to go black, and I don't remember anything after that. I was both disappointed and excited in the morning. I had hoped that simply being able to do an RC in a dream would be the hard part. However, it's nice to know that I'll be able to have real lucids soon.

This is actually fairly common as the initial shock of being lucid often wakes you up. Now that you know what it feels like you will be more prepared and hopefully will have more control next time it happens. Also, you may have just become lucid towards the end of a sleep cycle and were going to wake up anyway. Congrats on becoming lucid and keep trying. I guarantee it will be easier the next time around.

My first lucid was a FILD and it was disappointing that I didn't do much, but I was very excited that it worked, so it'll probably get better, it hasn't for me though.ha,yup.

My first LD was disappointing too--I realized I was dreaming, tried to fly, spun out of control, and woke up.

My second LD was much more detailed and calm, so don't give up hope.
