      The dawn of a new technique?

      The other day my alarm clock woke me up, so I turned the alarm off and the lights on. Now, bear in mind that my bedside light is very bright and positioned directly over me. I was very tired, so i decided to keep sleeping. This is the dream I had: I went to the movies with some friends, so we sit down inside the movie theatre, and after a while I realize that even though the movie is playing the lights haven't been dimmed down. I look up and the ceiling is so bright that I'm almost blinded. The dream continues but I forgot the rest.

      I'm thinking this is the same effect that the REM dreamer (or any other induction device) uses, of being able to incorporate external stimuli into your dreams. So if I was able to remember this and do reality checks every time I see a bright light, maybe it would become a great LD technique for me. I'll keep experimenting, and if it works I'll probably call it LILD (light induced lucid dream). Unless of course it has already been invented and has another name...

      Please post any experiences you have with this technique, so we can all work on improving it.

      LD Tasks:
      -> Have MILDs at will
      -> Ask my subconcsious mind something deep (i.e. the meaning of life)
      -> Have a fight controlling bullet-time
      -> Call my cell phone and ask the DC who he is

      U went to sleep with the light on u say? If so then the light incorparated into your dream and helped you become lucid. This is an interesting way of becoming lucid but not for me (and probably many others) because i could not sleep with the light on but if you learn to do rc's everytime you see a bright light this technique could be a very successful one.

      When an alarm wakes me up and I haven't had much sleep I'm usually so tired I don't mind the light on just to squeeze in half an hour of sleep. Plus, because it was in the morning I probably went directly into REM state, so it didn't take very long to start dreaming.

      You ought to wake up in the morning [I think this sort of thing really only works in the morning], play a movie, if you can, that you know will have a noticeably louder part that you would recognize, and fall back asleep.

      I might try that actually
