I just had the oddest LD I've ever experienced just moments ago. I'm in an office in which there's a lot of loud chatter from meetings, etc. I laid my head on my arms and fell asleep, not at all expecting the following events.
I can't even write it in standard dream form as it was so odd. Throughout the dream, it felt as if half my mind was out there dreaming, the other half stapled to the office desk I was in. Everything in the dream happened in the office, I was walking about, talking, etc. At one point, I had the very scary experience of opening my eyes to see three people crowding around my desk trying to wake me up. I began to genuinely worry if I was dying and needed to hospitalized, but I couldn't open my eyes more than a peep or, indeed, move at all. My arms, their circulation handily cut off by my head resting on them, begin buzzing, and soon, my entire body felt as if it was vibrating. It was a very 'stoned' feeling. This happened many, many times, and to this point I'm still not sure if everything was in a dream, or if I woke up and heard slivers of real conversation in the office, only to slip back into a dream, triggered by something somebody said. I even woke at one point and explained my predicament to a friend over AIM, ending with "See, I don't even know if I'm really talking to you or not." Well, this crazy circus of events ended with someone coming in to wake me up, and I realized that No, there was no conversation over AIM, there was nobody attempting to wake me up...it was mindboggling.
I definitely plan to sleep in the office again.
More specifically, I'd like to try falling asleep on my arms again, as it played a huge part of the sensations in the dream, and I believe it helped me to realize I was dreaming in the first place.
