      My First LD Experience

      Howdy all, I've been lurking here for a few days, and couldn't resist registering to share my story, though it's rather brief compared to some

      1st LD, ~March 2007

      It's been some time since I had my first lucid dream (and I've only recently started getting into writing up dreams), so over time some of the specifics have been lost; this entire recollection is from what I still remember many months later, and the reason my recall is so good, is probably because I haven't had any more lucid dreams ... yet

      ===========

      ... I find myself by an outdoor swimming pool. There's something very unusual about the whole thing, which I can't put my finger on, until it finally dawns on me: I'm looking at myself from a 3rd person view [This seems to happen to me a lot; need to be more aware about this!]

      With a moment's realisation, I yell "Holy ****, I'm dreaming!". I have to say, this first realisation is probably the most wonderful and bizarre feeling I've ever had. A sensation of the infinite, and that anything is possible.

      Immediately I start to wake up in my excitement. Thinking quickly, I immediately start dream-spinning, and this has the desired effect; I remain lucid.

      When I finish stabilising the dream, I then spot a girl I know and thinking this might be a good idea to get some amazing insight into myself, I ask her what she thinks of me...

      ... Sadly I didn't get the revelation I was looking for, as my unconscious mind reiterated what I already suspected. Oh well.

      After walking off, I pass 2 men, and stop to taunt them:

      "Hah, you don't exist". Okay, that probably is childish, but what the hell

      I seem to have found myself in some sort of urban environment, when I decide I'd rather be elsewhere. A tropical beach/island strikes me as a nice place to go to, so I decide to teleport there. I immediately spot an elevator and remembering that people have found this technique effective, I get in. When the doors re-open, I find myself in some kind of school yard. Not quite what I was hoping for, to say the least, but I'm pleased I managed to get *somewhere*, being my first ever attempt at this.

      I then spot the same girl from earlier in a rather provocative state of undress, but before anything can happen, the dream starts to fade to black as I start to wake. Using the last of my lucidity, I try to fly and take off Neo-style, but before I can get anywhere I awaken.

      ===========

      So far that's my only lucid dream, but I'm really getting into this whole thing now, as well as investing in a few things that should allow me to sleep much better.

      Overall, I think for a first lucid dream this went quite well, and I exercised a fair amount of control over the dream, as well as fully realising what was going on, as I demonstrated with my childish taunt

      Hope you enjoyed reading and hopefully this will be the first of many to come over the years.
