      Finally, My First Lucid

Well, last night, I finally had my first lucid since childhood, but I had TWO!
      Dream 1:
The first one started out with me seeing a bunch of patterns, swirling, kind of like a kaleidescope all over my walls, while lying in bed. The lighting was dark. I suddenly got that thought out of no where that I was dreaming. Suddenly everything becomes extremely vivid beyond belief, but kind of scary at the same time. Then I get really excited and wake up.
Dream 2:This one started out with me falling, or being pulled into my old childhood bedroom while growing up. As I am coming down, I get the thought that I was dreaming, so as I am being pulled to the carpet on the floor, I do a reality check, and my hands are really blurry looking.|Everything around seemed blurry too, but really vivid at the same time. I also notice toys and such on the ground, and a fan that we use to have. I get really excited again, and get the thought of spinning, but I end up waking up before I get a chance to test that out.

Hopefully this is a good start for me, and I hope these LDs keep happening. If anyone has any good advice, I would love to hear it. Seems like the problem now is working toward staying asleep in a lucid. Good Luck to everyone.

      Congratulations man.

Yeah it took me 2 DILDs before I on the third DILD was finally able to remain calm and enjoy a rather long Lucid dream. Although even in this dream I didn't do anything too exciting, like flying or something. I was just walking around familiarizing myself with the "dreamworld" which I had intended to do with my first prolonged lucid.

Anyway, hopefully it'll be the same for you! Third times' the charm right?

      Good luck!

Wattage, congratulations on your first lucid dream since childhood!

For those new to lucid dreaming, I advise that you don't try to set the lucid world on fire your first few dreams.. don't try to do too many tricks, summon people, etc. Simply go with the flow and take it all in. Get used to what being lucid FEELS like so you can ground yourself in your dreams.. that's when the tricks/stunts can happen.

Your first few dreams simply act like a tourist in a new place.. go sightseeing and take in all the different colors and sounds. You may try to increase your vividness by confidently declaring "increase lucidity" or "clarity now" but that would be the extent of control I would recommend for struggling dreamers.

I still have to remind myself the moment I become lucid to get "grounded" in my dream (i.e., make it as lucid as it could be) instead of immediately racing to do something before I lose lucidity.

One of the tricks I use to "ground" myself is to "touch" things. By touching.. I mean really "feeling" them. Get into how they feel.. are they hot, cold, smooth, rough, etc. (this also helps me remain in the dream longer).

Just remember that "the deeper the level of lucidity.. the better your lucid experience should be".

      Great stuff ,

I am the same here used to have Lucid Dreams as a kid, think most of us did, probably something to do with being more open minded, creative, imaginative, less concrete...etc......

Anyways, my last big lucid dream was about a month ago, only had a few small ones since then,

But I realise the excitement that you are feeling

Keep up the good work!! With more practice and experience you will develop your Lucid abilities more and more...

Now that you have a little taste of whats possible, go for some more bites

Thanks everyone! I will keep attempting all of this as much as I can. I am going to try things in baby steps, so to speak. Thanks again, Clarity, for your added thought, I will indeed try to keep lucid by touching things, however, i'm also gonna try spinning too, whichever of those come to mind more quickly during the dream.
