      Journal

      Hey people!

When i first heard of lucid dreaming (like 3 months ago) i became kind of obsessed and excited... i would wake up and write 2 or 3 dreams every morning (most times).
Now, during these 2 last months, i have had 2 lucid dreams of like 30 seconds each.
My problem is: my dream journal now sucks. Apparently i lost my memory of lots and lots of dreams... i just can't recall! And i think that affects a lot my ability to lucid dream... I am even afraid that i don't remember some dreams... Tips?
      Thanks!

Make "what did I dream?" the first thing you think of every time you wake up. Don't move, just try your best to recall as much as possible. The best way to remember as many dreams as possible is to wake up every time you have had a dream. It can be done using a technique similar to MILD; autosuggestion. When you go to sleep at night, tell yourself that you will wake up after every dream and remember it. Do this as you fall asleep. It might take a while, but you should get results. It's a very underrated technique. However, if you have problems falling back asleep again, then it might not be for you. I wake up after most dreams myself, and it doesn't affect me in a negative way at all.

In general, you might want to try the MILD technique, especially if you find autosuggestion effective. But keep up your dream journal, no matter how little or much you can write down. Good luck!

And since this is your first post... I should say welcome to DV!

      Welcome, FernandoPessoa.

Congrats of having two lucid dreams.

Luminous has some great tips for recall.

And remember, don't give up. Most of us have dry spells from time to time that we just have to plow through.

Also, are you getting enough sleep? I have noticed that some of my dry spells come during times I don't sleep as much.

Thanks a lot for both responses!
I think i can't mnemonically induce my thought of waking up after every dream, as i am a person that forgets most things... That would be great, though, because i just fall asleep easily easily easily. I think, as a matter of fact, that i don't remember dreams because if i stay still in the bed after waking up, i will fall asleep again! So i guess my mind is keeping me for staying still on the recall time.

Fortunately i have had some dreams that i could write after posting this

      Other completely different thing now:
I have had a night where i only slept like 3 hours. I woke up and as i was in a hurry i didn't remember/had time to recall. Then i was awake for 3 hours and i slept 3 hours again after that. For these 3 hours i tried unsuccessfully WILD but still i was able to write lots of dreams and pieces of dreams.

Let me divide my questions on two things now:
      - I can't see images on WILD. I see flashes of light, i feel something that people describe on WILD but i just can't get to the images... I feel my body relaxed and feel that it is sleepy already but i just can't enter the WILD experience... No creepy sounds, either.

      - About sleeping pattern... if i did everynight a core sleep of 3 hours and then during the day i made (for example) 1.5 and 1.5 hours separetely i would remember more dreams, right? And i could induce WILD easily?
This is a mere exercise, as my life won't let me have this sleeping pattern.

      What do you think?
