      Talking First lucid dream!

I spent ages in early December last year researching lucid dreams. I tried for weeks, and never could quite get it. Now, this Saturday, just by chance, I had my first one! Here's how it went:

After getting up around 8 o clock for a drink, I decided to go back to bed and have a lie in. I got back into bed, and heard a parcel come through the letterbox. I then drifted off to sleep.

When I 'woke up', it turned out that the parcel was a video game that I'd preordered a week prior that was set to be released on April 29th (Any guesses what it was ). I opened it up, was about to put the disc into my PlayStation, then thought to myself "Hang on. Why would I suddenly get this game 2 months before it was released?". I held my nose tightly, and took a deep breath in through my nose, which confirmed I was dreaming. Containing my excitement, I turned around, and slowly walked towards the wall, believing I could walk through it. I put my hand slowly up to it, and felt the wall engulfing it. I then ran straight through, and because I didn't think ahead as to what would be on the other side (which would have been my kitchen), I felt myself spinning around as everything went black. I then woke up in the real world.

It all felt so real, and every last detail of my living room was portrayed in my dream. It might not sound like an amazing dream, but to me, it was phenomenal.

      Awesome job!!

Sounds like you kind of did a Wake Back To Bed. I get most of my LDs that way.

That's great the way you were able to pick up on the fact that that video game wasn't out yet. And good job on being able to go through the wall. It took me a while before I was able to go through things like that.

It's such a great feeling after you first lucid. So wonderful to know you are capable. Now your confindence should go way up, and you will be able to have many more.

Thanks . I'm gonna try and get back into lucid dreaming, and have plans on what to do for next time. It's the Easter holidays now, so it should give me lots of chances to try again.

Cadabena, 1st great job on picking up on the game inconsistency and realizing you were dreaming.

2nd.. great job on knowing to contain your excitement.

3rd.. great job on not thinking about what you wanted to do but just doing it. I often tell members that there is no "try" when you're lucid.. only "do". You must KNOW that there is nothing you can't have nor perform while in your dream.

And 4th.. it was in fact an amazing dream because you did all the right things and now you can build on this experience and make the next LD that's coming even better.

      Well done!

It was GTA4 in the package no doubt, waiting for that one myself

      Congrats on the lucid!
Now that you've had one, the joy and confidence that you can in fact have them will result in more. Yipee.

Thanks for the support guys. I'm glad to be getting back into this, and I'm happy to get back in with a bang.

And Hiros, next time I'll put the disc in and tell you what the game is all about
