Trapped in my Room. Seriously, I need help people.

Last night I had another lucid in my room. The last three lucids I had were all DILD and they were all in the last month or so, after a huge huge dry spell. I expect them to keep coming, only problem is, each time I am trapped in my room. It's almost comical.

The first time I wanted to bring someone into the room, to uh... talk to. So I use the old door trick, pretend they are behind the door, then open it. Only problem is when pull on the doorknob it rips off. I tried quite a few things to destroy that door. Fire, punching, I even had an axe. Nothing.

The second time was very similar to the first, except every time I opened the door there was another behind it.

The last time I got the door open but there was only blackness. I stuck my head in and called out "Hello" and it echoed for a very long time. I went to the window, which was showing the "real" outside, and tried opening it. Each time I opened it there was another, so I smashed it and stepped through. I exploded and woke up. I seriously wasn't expecting anything to happen and it caught me off guard.

Any suggestions on how to escape my room?
I had a strange dream last night...

      Jump into the blackness.

Run into the wall, passing through it into a new scene. (This is the most common way that I change dream scenes.)

      Teleport via dream spinning.

Jump out the window. (Break if necessary.)

Oh, if you have a TV in your room, I've heard of two methods you might be able to change the scene. One is to use the TV remote to change the channel of the dream itself. The other is to turn on the TV and jump into whatever scene is on TV. I've never tried either one of these, but they've worked for people before.

Haha, is that the reason you have tried to do this all three times? Maybe setting a different goal will let you leave the room? In which case, you can end up somewhere else, and maybe that person will show up

In the past two LDs I had, I was in my room and couldn't really leave(Im starting to have a control problem...). Anyway, the bad part of this is that I share a room with my twin sister(I don't like that) and both times she was asleep(in the dream). I've learned from the first time that being in my room is a bad thing in dreams because in both LDs she suddenly wakes up and attacks me. I get scared then I wake myself up. I get mad about it too. Its very annoying...my sister told me that I attacked her once in a LD too.

you should just battle her in your dream, don't get scared, it's YOUR dream!

I tried to go through a TV in a lucid dream once It was off so it was just a black screen but it didn't work out so well at first. I first tried to go in headfirst and hit my head off of it. Then I tried feet first and I got through but I was falling in darkness for a bit until I decided to appear somewhere random.

Back on topic, your dream sounds really cool ,but weird at the same time. I can't imagine having a dream like that.

Do you know how to go through walls? I do it a lot in dreams, and if you've ever played a video game with no-clipping cheats its pretty easy to get used to. My style of doing it is not only going through walls, but flying at the same time. It's a lot of fun, but it might be able to help.

My only other suggestion is to not struggle too much if you are. If you struggle, or try too hard (or even try at all) you most likely won't be able to do whatever it is you are trying to do (lucid control wise). You just have to know you can do it, which is harder than it sounds (atleast im not too good at it )

      Silent Hill 4: The Room

Close your dream eyes and spin, whilst visualising a new scene. Renounce the doubt and fear that you have.

Not working? If possible, then try to sleep, consistently, in a different room or even a new location for a while. See what happens then.

Alright so this is all good advice. I will try not to struggle as much next time although I thought I kept a pretty good head for the most part. The endless windows though, it was like salt in a wound haha.

I think next I will try calling for help on the phone, just because I've never used a phone before in a dream. Then if I'm still not out it'll be wall-hax for sure.

I'll be sure to post in here how it goes.

Haha, is that the reason you have tried to do this all three times? Maybe setting a different goal will let you leave the room? In which case, you can end up somewhere else, and maybe that person will show up
Yeah I thought that might be it to, so I didn't bother trying after the first time. After that didn't help though it became my goal again haha.

My first intuition would be to say that you might somewhat be afraid to explore your dream world. Being trapped in your room actually makes sense: It's a controlled environment where you feel secure. No (bad) surprises.

In the waking life, try to think about the things you'd like to do when you LD... Perhaps concentrate on some visuals (childhood memories, etc.) when you go to bed, and tell yourself "This is where i wanna be when i LD".

      Good luck!

My post after others may sound like a broken record, but:

You need a change of scenery, a.k.a. dream spinning. Spinning has also increased my power over a dream, and perhaps that'll be just the thing to get you free.

When all of your wishes are granted, many of your dreams will be destroyed.

Have you tried using an internal door instead of an external door in the house? Since the outside door won't open or won't open onto anything useful, try closing and then opening a door you know works inside the house.

If passing through walls doesn't work, try jumping backwards. It works for me.

I usually walk through a wall when there's no door that opens. There's often a little resistance as if you're walking through a bush when I do it, but it always works for me.

Ok so last night I had no luck again. I think I'm stuck in there because I expect to be for the most part. I went on my computer and talked to someone on msn. I was getting distracted though and almost lost it when the person told me I was dreaming and I became fully lucid again. That was lucky. Next I tried walking through the walls, but I just kept hitting them, or getting stuck in them so I could only get out back into the room. Then I had the idea to go back to my computer, and it had a terminal on it. I typed >Wall hax and hit enter, and I didn't feel much different. I walked over to the wall and walked through. However, the place I entered from the wall was my room, but the floor on the ceiling and vice versa. It was strange, eventually I woke up.

Ok then next up is dream spinning, then jumping backwards. I don't know if you mean jumping backwards through a wall or what, but I will try through the mirror.

I've been having similar problems with my LDs. It's almost as if my dream is fighting me constantly. One example is were I realised I was dreaming and suddenly I was paralysed. I overcame it and then wanted to fly so I jumped out the window. However when I jumped out I appeared in the same room lying on the floor watching a TV on the wall that were not there before. I then woke up.

      Wtf?

No lucid last night. I might try WBTB tonight. I really feel motivated. As to opening the door, sometimes I do manage to open it, that's not really the problem. But the expecting it to be open bit is good all-around lucid behaviour.

I think next time I will just go ape and wreck everything in the room, what with fireballs and what-not...

only problem with that is that most people have problems with "device failure" so even turning it on in the first place might pose some problems

Finally, the curse is lifted. It was rather ironic actually, as the way I got out of my room was losing lucidity. I forgot that I was dreaming and left my room to go in the car with my dad. He crashed into a tree and I "woke up" in the hospital. I realized I was dreaming, again, and not in my room so I proceeded to do whatever the hell I wanted and had a grand 'ol time. Thanks for your advice various peoples of the internets, but it turns out all the situation required was, well, who knows. But I'm glad anyways.

I've had similar problems. I've definitely gotten stuck in places, but lately I've been having problems with being completely unable to move. It's really weird. I'm still working on it.
