Sometimes when people realise they've become lucid, they become so excited that they actually wake up. Next time, if you realise that you're dreaming, try to stay calm and rub your hands together or touch a dream object to increase the lucidity. Heck, I know that some people actually say "lucidity 100%" in order to increase it. xD

Yeah that should work quite well, staying calm is the main thing, as soon as you get too excited you'll wake yourself up. It happens to me every now and then, even in non lucid dreams.
When I was in high school I was very ambitious, I wanted to be the Class President but I missed out by only about 3 votes.

So they made me the Class Secretary of Defence.

Yeah, it's basically "sensory overload." You become too excited to stay asleep. Sometimes, becoming lucid makes you aware of your physical body, so you start feeling that you're still in the bed, and that begins to draw you out of a dream as well. The best thing to do (as stated) is make a resolve to Stay Calm once you become lucid.

Usually, if I have the patience, I will stop everything I'm doing (upon realization that I'm dreaming) and just take some time to focus. I'll look at my hands to sort of "ground" myself into the dream, or touch some of the texture around me, which does the same thing. In my experience, my lucids last much longer when I do that. Even if I've been lucid for a long time, and I start to feel the dream unraveling, I'll stare at my hands and concentrate on bringing things back in focus. When I look away from them, everything is clear, and I end up staying in the dream for much longer. Try it out, sometime.

Yes thats what i tried. Although ive noticed ppl in here saying that theyve
slid into a LD when theyre already asleep. I never do that. I start right
from my head hitting the pillow. I have to be in an exhausted state where
you know youre going to fall right to sleep. When im on the threshold of
wakefulness and sleeping thats when i force the LD. It has to be perfect
circumstances but i always recognize it, and i get a tingling feeling and
i just push my dream body out of my real one right into a lucid dream.

Really!! OMG thats why ive come here, to learn how to stay in a ld i know
im losing!! In that movie with danny devito he mentions to look and study
your hands. I tried that once and i think it helped but i keep forgetting
to try it! My dreams last for about 20 minutes to maybe as long as 40 min.
and then i start to lose it. Im gonna try touching something next time too!

For some reason, when I say lucidity 100%, it becomes so real that it shocks me and I wake up.

oh yeah i have had this happen and it sucks, typically in the morning because you know why..at times when i become lucid i start thinking about all the things i need to do today and bam i am up!! ugh..yeah try not to think about your emotions or in my case a freckin to do list..and spin around in a circle or interact with somthing or someone in the dream. I hope it works for you actually just the other day i became lucid and was thinking about how i had to babysit my nephew that day and in my dream i heard my doorbell ring and i thought it was rining IRL and i woke up only to find nobody at the door, although my sister did come and ring 30 min. later

I wake up when i try to do something too complicated. Or i always wake
up if i try to talk in a LD. I also wake up if something scares me. For instance
once i flew down the rad in the floor of my livingroom at the time. I flew
straight down at a very high speed. As soon as i entered the rad everything
went dark and i couldnt see anymore but i knew i was still flying straight
down very fast! I could feel the exhileration of the speed! I dont know why i
flew down there, but all of a sudden i got it in my head that i was flying
straight down to hell! lol And i thought at any moment i was going to
break through to hell and be face to face with the devil! That scared the
crap out of me and i instantly woke up! I never tried that one again!
