Does Anyone Here Ever Go Blind?

I usually have no trouble at all LDing, but sometimes I'll get into
the LD and I'll be blind. I can fly around but Im blind! No matter
what i try to do, i stay blind. So I just end up giving up and waking
up. Anyone know a trick for this one?

Going blind, deaf, becoming paralyzed are all common LD events. Especially for those new to LDing.

Thank you seeker for that wonderful insight.

Its corny, and it sounds stupid, but take it from the Matrix: All you need to do is believe. Believe you can see and take a look around. Use the same method you use to realize that gravity can be bent to your will to bring back your vision.

Rarely I will become lucid just before waking and hover between waking and dreaming for a few seconds. I sometimes find that while I can touch objects in the dream, my sight is that of my physical body, and if I try to open my eyes, my real eyes open. However, if you are in a full on dream, but blind, and you can feel around, how about using your dream hands to pull your dream eyes open?

For me this is usually a big indicator that I am about to wake up.

This sounds like a great idea and ill try it!! Thanx!!

Thank you also seeker for your help. I dont freak out ever in a LD tho,
I just dont enjoy it if im blind so ill just wake myself up and go back to
sleep a normal sleep. Im not sure if it happens when im about to wake
up tho because when it does happen it usually happens right at the
beginning. I love all the ideas tho that everyone gave, ive just recently
learned that touching objects while LDing can help to keep the dream
from ending too soon. I havent LDed since ive found this site since im
very busy right now while on holiday and im much too tired to LD at
night....i just pass out these days lol Soon tho itll happen and ill be
giving all these ideas a try!!!

Never happens to me, but I hear about it all the time. I know many people who that happens to regularly.

Thank you Seeker but im not new to LDing and ive been LDing once or
twice a week for 25 years now. It is only sometimes, very few times,
that i am blind and i know its a mind block at the time. I just wondered
if there were any tricks anyone knew to combat these blocks when
they happen....because sometimes no amount of believing or 'will' works.

It happens to me pretty often, usually when the dream is fading out / I'm waking up like DuB said. I sometimes manage to get through it through focus and by staying grounded in the dream, doing things like feeling the ground or objects around me to keep some kind of anchor in the dream.

I go blind or deaf or become paralyzed from time to time in my LDs, too. All I do is ignore it. I don't become afraid, either. I completely put it out of my mind. Instead of focusing on it I instead focus on what I can sense. Eventually the lost senses return or the dream ends. But in either case I don't feel like I wasted the entire LD being freaked out my what I'm missing.

      I hope this helps!

I've recently encountered the blindness too. I think it is a sign that I'm close to waking up. Like Seeker said, I just try to touch things around me and use other senses. Then if I do wake up I'll try to enter again by useing a DEILD.

I often go blind during non-LDs, or can't see very well. Very irritating.

One time, however, I could hardly see at all, until someone, who I think may have been my Dream Guide, handed me a pair of goggles. When I put them on, I could see!
