      First horid "lucid" experience.

I don't know what to make of this experience, but i will share.

I was dreaming about my uncle, my cousin, and my mom, we were all in a hotel that seemed like it had wooden walls and wooden floor. After a while of that i woke up because i was cold. It was about 7:00 in the morning and i pulled up my covers and went back to sleep. I had some small dream about how i had braces on my lower teeth. I FELT like i questioned it a little. I was like, maybe i do have braces, no, wait maybe.. Then i come to realization that hey, i don't have braces, im dreaming. So immediately something happens thats never happened to me before. But im stuck, im stuck in a freakin sleep paralysis or something. It was the most freightening REAL thing in a dream. I tried to move my legs but i couldn't. Like i felt my legs figiting but i just couldn't get up. I couldn't open my mouth, i was yelling as loud as i could when my mouth was closed so i couldn't say anything or nobody could year me. And i couldn't open my eyes. My heart was beating very fast as i was very scared. I then said to myself "wake up" and then i immediately did. I was perfectly normal, not scared, i could move. I did a few reality checks and i was finally in reality.

what do you make of this? This is my actual first lucid experience. I cant really describe the feeling i had when i said " im dreaming ". I guess the transition was that i was in a dream, and now i was ME. i was conscious but i couldn't do anything!

Hey, I'm surprised that nobody has replied to this yet. What you experienced was sleep paralysis, and it is a perfectly normal, harmless phenomenon. There is a real neurological reason as to why this happens, but it isn't relevant here. The major thing that you need to know is that when you are in a state of sleep paralysis, it is very easy to enter an actual lucid dream! If it ever happens again, you should relax, while not losing sight of your intentions to lucid dream. Picture the place you want to lucid dream to occur. Picture it in ever detail possible. If all goes well, boom bam, you're in a lucid dream ready to do absolutely anything you want.

      thanks for the reply,

i don't know if i can do that again. maybe i can have my mom wake me up earlier than i usually wake up then i can figit around for a few minutes then fall back to sleep like i did this morning. But i will continue to try to DILD because i am keeping a dream journal. but ill try to remember to relax and go with it. it was my first time so i was freaking out!

indeed its true,. if you are in sleep paralysis it is so easy to enter a ld, its about having the will power to no you in no real harm, next time just stay still thne you cant feel that you cant move, its so easy to enter a ld!!!

no harm can come to you jo matter what you feel or see,

Unfortunately it's quite common for people to panic when they find themselves in sleep paralysis, especially if you get suddenly jolted awake during sleep and find that you can't move. I read an article about it once but can't remember exactly what it said. I usually find that if I get suddenly jolted awake I will have the idea that demons are attacking me, and then I will struggle with the paralysis until I am able to move. Once I'm awake of course I realise - too late - that it was perfectly harmless. Bummer !

Attoj, a negative sleep paralysis experience is interesting because no matter how much you may realize that you're paralyzed or dreaming or that it's harmless, or even try to tell yourself to calm down it sometimes doesn't help in evading the mind-controlling fear and feel of a complete loss of control. Why this happens can range from temporary neurological problems to having a ghost possess pass by...

      Next time this happens, Attoj:
try focusing on ur pinky finger on your dominant hand.
Focus on this and then slowly try WiGGLING it.
Once you succeed, now try your index finger.
      Now your other fingers.
      Now your ENTIRE right hand!
Keep spreading this experience throughout the body until you can control your entire body and move freely!
The sun and moon pass over my shoulders,
I see mountains and rivers all in the palm of my hand.
