      What Would You Consider This?

In terms of a lucid dream or not a lucid dream, what would you rate the following experience.

Me and a few people were all gathered around what seemed to be some kind of lift or elevator at the end of a long hallway. The walls were painted blue and had white moulding. It seemed to be night-time, but this may have been because of the darkness of the hallway. I was talking to one of the folks standing around when a small, strange creature fell from the ceiling onto his shoulder. I'm not exactly sure how to describe it ... perhaps a cross between a zombie and a doll. It was nightmarish to say the least. In a moment, the dream turned pretty terrible. The person with the creature on his shoulder spun around and we both, as well as the rest of the group, saw a 'thing' that was partially human but had no arms, neck, and it's head was embedded into it's torso. It opened it's mouth as if it were ready to bite, and I'm fairly sure I saw it pounce on that person I was just talking to.

The rest of us ran down the hall. I can remember another twisted thing came out of a door next to us. Someone picked up board and began to hit it as we ran. I made it to the end of the hall and into an elevator. I can remember hitting the down button and yelling for the rest to follow us in, but the door began to close. One of the group members made it in just as it shut. The rest were on their own.

The the room was more of a office then a proper elevator. I spied a desk chair in the corner and decided to grab it and use it as a shield. However, when we made it to the bottom and the door opened, there wasn't anything to greet us. We began to run through the house.

I made it to a room with the remaining one of the group and in the corner there was a man with a weapon - something like a bat. It was here that I'm debating whether I was lucid or not. I thought to myself 'This must be a movie. I bet my character becomes lucid right now.' Whereupon I did 'become lucid' and I forced myself to awaken.

The strangest part was that I woke up about three seconds before my alarm went off.

      So what do you think?

I dont know what would lead you to make you think it were a movie and not a dream though, but this is a lucid dream. Anyway sounds like a low-level lucid dream. on a scale of 1 to 10..like a 4.

I agree totally with nightowl, it was a low level LD. I would have also said "next time don't wake yourself up and try to stay lucid" but it doesn't really work if your alarm clock is about to go off anyway, hehe. Question: do you usually wake up just moments before your alarm? I do that constantly.

      Thanks for the replies, guys.

Barely ever. Sometimes I'll wake up about fifteen minutes before or after, but never a few seconds. I think that was the strangest part of my whole dream - that I was able to end it just before I had to wake up anyway.

I'm glad it was a lucid dream, but I don't think I'll count it. Didn't really do much in it.
