      Lucid Dream within a Dream?

Last night I laid down for my core sleep at 1:30am... it seems like I immediately went into this craaazy dream, which lasted until I woke up a 3:33am, and this is how it went:

Well, I had a lucid dream within a dream within a dream because of a False Awakening within a lucid dream within a non-lucid dream.... or something. And in the non-lucid parts of this on-again-off-again-lucid-non-lucid dream I thought I had lost my mind since there was no semblance of continuity after the first few false awakening.

There was so much going on, so many people and changes of locale, that thought I jotted down all that I could remember, I'm sure I missed several "layers of sleep/dreams" if you will.

First, I caught the train at a train station in Upstate New York. I drifted off to sleep on the train, and woke up soon after in a strange place. I met a girl shortly after getting off the train, whom I remembered from a previous dream another night, though I don't think she has any connection to a waking-world person that I know. She asked me "do you have a habit of doing this?" and held up a small photo of me with the eyes cut out. 3 or 4 of the girl around her turned around, exposing themselves as her friends, one of whom began whispering to her "stop that, it's your brother's friend...". About now I realized that I knew this girl from a dream and only from a dream, and became lucid (keep in mind that this is the second layer of sleep, the dream-within-a-dream. I was not lucid in the first layer).

I asked the girl if she wanted to go for a flight, and she looked at me like a lunatic and told me I'm crazy. I picked her up in my arms and took off Superman style. When we got in the air, I could see that were were outside a stadium for a Dodger's game. I buzzed the crowd, and then the players, who all began chasing after me from the ground. I flew safely outside the stadium again and landed.

Impressed with my flight skills, the girl and her friends came with me to a casino. One of the girls then told me I was dreaming, to which I replied "I know," but this statement "woke me up" (back into the first layer of dreaming, not-lucid), and I was on the train platform in Orlando, FL, (the last stop), watching the train pull away. I checked my pockets and had no money. People all around me held up newspapers with headlines about me buzzing the Dodger's game, pointing at me and telling "it's him! it's him!"

A girl I went to school with suddenly appeared to save me from the hysteria, and offered me a ride home. I fell asleep in the car, and this time woke up at home in bed with my Mom standing over me. There was blood everywhere in the shape of my handprints, and everything in my house was broken. I tried to explain to my mom that I thought it was LDing but must have been acting out my dream whilst sleep-walking. My mom told me I had had a psychotic break and she was kicking me outta of the house. I tried to explain the dreams within a dream, the false awakening, the Dodgers game, the mad fans of the flying-man, but she says "How is that possible when I dropped you off at the train station? You're lying, and you're leaving my house immediately."

I went outside to think, and my Dad came home from work. He needed to get some tried for his truck, so I decided to go with him to explain what happened before my Mom could. As we walked down the street, my little Sister jumped out of the weeds and tackled us. My dad tells her to stay home, that my brother is a hostage on a bus that a crazed High School student has taken over and is rampaging all over town is, and that it's not safe for her. We forget all about the tires.

Next scene, my father and I are stopped at an intersection near the local high school, and we see a double-decker school bus plowing over people and property, with the madman firing a double-barreled shotgun out the window at everyone around. We thought my brother was onboard, but suddenly we saw him walking down the street.

Several times upon falsely-awakening, I thought that I may have pissed myself (luckily, I never did) as I was "waking." On several occasions in the dream, I felt my bladder full and "woke up" into the previous layer of sleep (I remember there being many more, but not the details of them or when they fell in the story). The worry that I might piss myself caused me to wake up (FA) only to realize I didn't need to pee.

I'm sorry this is so all-over-the-place and confusing, but there were so many different levels to my dream, this is literally only 20% or less of it. It was a sort of false awakening inside a lucid dream within a non-lucid dream due to an FA which itself was within an LD within a non-lucid dream b/c of an FA due to... oh fuck, I'm confused

Has anyone else experience SO MANY layers of dreams? Or what about initially having a non-lucid dream, sleeping in that dream, and becoming lucid?

Haha, I had a very similar expierence this night.

I was in a semi-lucid dream, and in that dream I had the ability to Lucid dream

So when I wanted to Lucid dream I could do that on command.

I think I closed my eyes and woke up another place, in the Lucid dream. So I kept switching between the semi-lucid "reality" dream and the lucid dream.

In my lucid dreams I saw the same girl and her father, and sometimes I was a great beautiful tree, and each time I grew larger.

In the end of the dream I was this tree again, growing and growing, so big that I had to shout "STOP" to stop growing

After that I took off the ground and flew up, so many details, so much colour, it was literally breathtaking. In 5 seconds I had reached the altitude of maybe 60.000 feet. Way too fast and I flew back towards the ground, but I doubted something for 1 milisecond while closing my eyes and woke up.

This switching between two dreams prolonged the time of Lucid dreaming I think.

Weird, ain't it? It's not the false awakening that's so strange, it's the "false dreams".

I seem to have that same problem a lot: whenever I close my eyes in a Lucid Dream, it ends it, and when I open them again, I'm awake (for real, usually).

Well, I have no problem with closing my eyes, I actually do it alot.

      It was just the doubt.
