Thread: Lack of Emotion in Lucids?

After having my first lucid last night, which was amazingly long for a first lucid (it's in my dream journal), I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced a lack of emotion in lucids. I think the reason my lucid was so long is because of my lack of emotion during it, but it also made it less enjoyable. And also, I wasn't very motivated to do things I'd wanted to do in a dream. When I woke up, it took me a few hours to actually be more than passively happy about having my first lucid, probably both because I hadn't been happy/excited in the dream and because I'd just spent a while not feeling any emotion. I think I'm mainly curious because people generally say their emotions are stronger in dreams, so this is sort of the opposite.

No, especially not in the first lucids I had. I was overwhelmed with excitement seeing all of the things I could do.

That does seem strange to me, but I speak for myself.

Are you excited about lucidity in waking life?

First of all... Congrats!

Second: You weren't amazed about your dream? You could try to do things that you couldn't do in real life. That surely will make you quite happy.

Also emotions fuel my dream powers. I can't shoot people with lightning if I don't have any emotions. Soo they are good to have.

Edit: read your dream journal. It seemed like my first lucid. I just tested a few things out. Now that you know how it works the real fun should start. Just wait! I wasn't excited in my first lucid either. That all changed when I had my second best lucid dream

I'm very excited about lucidity in waking life. That's what made it strange for me. I've actually noticed a lack of emotion in most of my dreams lately, but I didn't think it would carry over to my lucids. I suppose it's possible that I just forgot all the emotions I felt, though that seems unlikely to me.

I should have been happy about that, and I was more so than any other part of the dream, but it was more of a passive happiness.

Well now that you know how it works you can do what ever you want which should be awesome You might want to stay away from sex dreams as they cause you to wake up.

Wasn't planning to have any of those anyway.

I noticed a lack of emotion aswell. I've only had 1 wild and 1 dild. The wild i was thinking this was awsome but i didnt feel any emotion. Same with my dild. It was very long but i still felt very subtle emotions. Nothing intense like i can experience in waking life. Im guessing this is because we arnt fully aware of our emotions in our dreams yet..?? Also i guess this could also be an advantage to make our lucids last longer because we wont get too excited and wake ourselves up.
