Yeah, but atleast you actually did something. For me, as I said, it was just a hazey black. Infact i'm starting to question if it was lucid because it was really vague, but I really do remember being conscious and aware for about 5 seconds. It was strange, but hopefully a start.

The patience is a virtue. Still straining, it is at least a step

      Anyone else care to share?

I just need some reassurance that it will get better than just a vague, hazey blackness.

My first two lucids faded to that hazy blackness within a few seconds. It sucks, but after that it's awesome. The two I had after that lasted several minutes and were incredibly awesome. I still can't maintain full control, but I'm getting there. It's like anything else, you get better at it with time.

The blackness often appear in LD, a trick to stay into the LD is to stick to something in your dream: a chair, a lampost, a tree or a simple ring that you've in your finger. Also you can focus the objects of your dream, it's harder but more effective. I hope you get better results in other LD's.

In my first lucid dream, I flew. I also had my first lucid dream on my first try! Sorry for the bragging. You can read more about my experience on my post.

I had my second Lucid experience last night. . I don't remember what happened before I became Lucid, but I remember being on here (dream views) on my computer. I looked at the clock on my computer and it said 1:26. I knew straight away I was dreaming, because it had the same vague, hazey blackness, but this time it was more clear than my first, and it seemed to last a bit longer; maybe 6-8 seconds this time.

So after a month-and-half of trying without any luck, i've finally had two in the last two days. What is interesting though is the fact that I've actually been trying to WILD and haven't been doing reality checks or looking for dream signs, but these two experiences definately weren't WILDs. Maybe they were MILDS, because both times I fell asleep trying to WILD, so the last thing I thought about before sleeping was Lucid dreaming.

      Congratulations!

My first LD was a WILD. As a matter of fact, all my LDs were Wilds. Anyway, it was very realistic and it was about five minutes long. I flew, kicked a dog and used telekinesis on another one. It was my best LD yet
