What was your first Lucid experience like?

I think I had my first Lucid experience last night, but i'm not completey sure. I remember doing the nose-pinch test, but it was just complete blackness. Although it wasn't a normal type of blackness; it was really hazey and the whole thing was quite vague. I remember spinning to try to stabilize it, but I couldn't do it quick enough before the (lucid?) dream just kind of went. It felt like I was dragged out of it, but it wasn't like being physically dragged.

Infact i'm not even sure if it was Lucid, but I definately had some vague consciousness. Maybe I was semi-Lucid?

My 1st lucid was great but didn't last very long. I was in a coffeehouse in a normal dream, and suddenly I walked through a window, and at that moment I realized I was dreaming and the 1st thing I did was try to fly; it was very hard I had to flap my arms rofl, few seconds after it began to fade and i tried to spin but i couldn't because I was in 3rd person, that was it.

The 1st dreams are always quite confusing. I dreamed my 1st lucid when I was a kid, I was walking across my street when suddenly appeared a great white dragon breaking the balcony of my home, then I looked at him and I said "bah this is just a dream" and I continued walking and I don't remember anymore.

Yeah, but atleast you actually did something. For me, as I said, it was just a hazey black. Infact i'm starting to question if it was lucid because it was really vague, but I really do remember being conscious and aware for about 5 seconds. It was strange, but hopefully a start.

      Anyone else care to share?

I just need some reassurance that it will get better than just a vague, hazey blackness.

My first two lucids faded to that hazy blackness within a few seconds. It sucks, but after that it's awesome. The two I had after that lasted several minutes and were incredibly awesome. I still can't maintain full control, but I'm getting there. It's like anything else, you get better at it with time.

The blackness often appear in LD, a trick to stay into the LD is to stick to something in your dream: a chair, a lampost, a tree or a simple ring that you've in your finger. Also you can focus the objects of your dream, it's harder but more effective. I hope you get better results in other LD's.

In my first lucid dream, I flew. I also had my first lucid dream on my first try! Sorry for the bragging. You can read more about my experience on my post.

I had my second Lucid experience last night. . I don't remember what happened before I became Lucid, but I remember being on here (dream views) on my computer. I looked at the clock on my computer and it said 1:26. I knew straight away I was dreaming, because it had the same vague, hazey blackness, but this time it was more clear than my first, and it seemed to last a bit longer; maybe 6-8 seconds this time.

So after a month-and-half of trying without any luck, i've finally had two in the last two days. What is interesting though is the fact that I've actually been trying to WILD and haven't been doing reality checks or looking for dream signs, but these two experiences definately weren't WILDs. Maybe they were MILDS, because both times I fell asleep trying to WILD, so the last thing I thought about before sleeping was Lucid dreaming.

      Congratulations!

My first LD was a WILD. As a matter of fact, all my LDs were Wilds. Anyway, it was very realistic and it was about five minutes long. I flew, kicked a dog and used telekinesis on another one. It was my best LD yet

It was awesome. I experienced happiness greater than I had ever felt before. I literally laid grinning in my bed for a full two and a half hours. I still use the memory to cheer myself up.

Talking This happened when I was about 11

This was my really first lucid dream experience.....

I was out with some friends at school. Then, a weird rocket appeared out of nowhere and the school blew up. We were all running, but for some reason, it felt good to be out and free. There were also alot of boat like rocket ships in the sky, which was changing colors. I even remember the smell of sausages....

well, I felt good and said, "If this was a dream, no chance in hell that I want it to end!" Then, the magic worked right there. I realized it was a dream, then everything went all bright, until I found a friend telling me to 'wake up'(I was still dreaming). I asked her what happened, and she looked at me stupidly and said, "Dude. You were so excited about flying wienies that you passed out. Anyway, they banned school, so our class is going out." (the quote isn't exact, but it was something like this) So I had fun shopping.

It counts as a lucid dream since I knew that all this time I was dreaming. But it felt so real and wonderful that I relaxed, went with the flow, and had fun.
btw, does this also count as an epic dream since it's vivid and all?

My first ever dream where I made myself lucid dream. It is also the shortest and hardest to remember. I am in a dark hallway. I think it was on fire, but I don't think it was. I reached the stairs when I decide to pinch my nose. When I did...I breathed through it! All of a sudden this blast of energy rushed through me. I was suddenly aware of what I am doing for a second when I fell over thinking I will land on the stair, but I go right through it. Everything turned black and I woke up.

My first lucid dream I was wandering through an empty city, looking for other people.

I remember looking around and realizing "There's no way I'm the only person here? Am I dreaming?" All of the sudden it was a rush of vividness and excitement as I became lucid, but then I promptly woke up.

My first lucid dream came from a very long regular dream where I was on some sort of expedition with a bunch of people. On the way back my cat (who is spayed) had a kitten, then the kitten ran off and I chased after it. Then this guy came up to me and was like, "that's my cat." At first I didn't believe him, then I realized that it was his cat. At that point I was thoroughly confused, and I suddenly realized it was a dream. I stood there for about half a second, then woke up.

I know about the hazy blackness though. Oftentimes it comes right after I become lucid. I usually try to DEILD back into the dream. So far it hasn't worked, but I've had some pretty cool SP from it.

I may have had one of those LD right at end of a nightmare, but I'm not counting those.

My first was two years ago and a DC told me that I was dreaming. I was happy. I probably stayed up longer than most people in their first LD

I wish my DCs would tell me when I was dreaming. That would be very useful.

My first Lucid Dream that lasted more than a second was quite cool, although still rather
short. Here's what happen: It starts off non lucid...

"I walked up to the fence near the sheep paddock by our house and was trying to make
a flower open up by telling it to in my mind, I then became Lucid, and turned around and
looked at my hands. My vision was a bit hazy, so I rubbed my hands and it became
clear. I then looked around a bit, then I thought about flying, so I bent my knees and
then jumped up into the air with a blast, and flew about 500+ feet into the sky, but
things started to look weird, So I flew back down, and on the way down I was thinking,
I have gotta try kayaking. But then the dream ended."

I've had about 3 lucid dreams in my life, the one that sticks out the most started from sleep paralysis which I've been experiencing since i was about 18.

I was having SP and was fighting to move, i then managed to drag my body out of bed (dreaming) and got out of my room and looked back into my room to see myself lying there, i then ran down stairs and remember thinking "wow i am actually dreaming" and didn't wake up... as i got to the bottom on my stairs i opened the porch door and walked into the porch, i then decided to try and jump through my front door which I did.

I was then standing outside and it was daylight even though i knew it couldn't have been, anywayz as i turned around and looked at the bush in my front garden and suddenly everything became much more sharper and vivid, each leaf on the bush was clear and the surroundings then followed... once everything became really sharp i decided to try and fly so i closed my eyes and i was kind of hovering over my road, i looked down the road and seen a figure riding a bike towards me so i decided to try and make contact, as i was hovering down i lost consiousness and faded back into a dream... i probably woke up about 3 mins later and was loving the experience.

My first was also disappointingly short: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...54&postcount=2

my first one was so short before i woke up. i was at a reoccurring place in my dreams, a strange mall, and i recognized it. I got lucid and looked around, i was so shocked i finally did it. i walked around looking everywhere, then i tried flying, which was a major fail, aha. I tried, and i didn't go anywhere. So i tried jumping, but all i could do was glide a few feet off the ground. I got too excited though and woke up after about, 5 minutes.

My first LD was pretty weird, the darkness came but I stared at my hand (what the forums said) and looked at the detail and stuff, and soon it came back into focus, but it was pretty out of focus. So I swam underwater (that's where I was) for a bit, talked to my dad, and (time skip, I guess I un-lucidified) was standing on an invisible platform above the city. Then the blackness came and I was like nooooooooooooooooooooooooo. My second lucid was vivid and amazing though.
On LD hiatus. Probably will start again around new years.

Or, you know -- randomly throughout this year and next.
