      Regeneration

I know there are a lot of people who have recurring violent dreams. Has anyone been severely injured (like limbs cut off, holes shot in them, etc.) then been able to heal themself or "reanimate" themselves so that they revert back to normal? Self regeneration and healing seem to happen quite often in my dreams... any others with similar experiences to share?

I got shot in the head once, died, came back to life...No pain or anything, just the feeling of being dead and then alive I guess
In this crazy world if they don't consider you mad, then you have no confirmation of your own sanity, do you?
Imagine if this crazy world thought you were sane?! Oh my God, worst nightmare!

      not exactly, but interesting

I once had a semi-lucid dream where I was in this beautiful
amusement park type reality. I went to one booth on the side
of a cliff where the wokers of the booth stuck a needle, which
was connected to some strange electro-mechanical device, into
my hand. They proceeded to blow my hand up like a helium
balloon. It was fascinating to watch and not painful at all. As if
the device had first put an anesthetic in me. Then I willed it back
to normal proportions. It was very interesting. Not exactly the
same thing you're talking about, but I thought I'd share that one.
Just a friendly reminder to do a reality check. : ) Are you dreaming? How do you know?

Well I was shot several times once in a dream, shotguns and such (think Robocop) I didn't excactly reanimate myself, but I did push the bullets out of me, but still had the wounds. Well atleast it's a start!

This is a little bit off topic, but i thought it'd be a good time to ask..

Does anyone know why you usually wake up when you die in dreams?
I mean, if you're religious for example, the most logical thing would be that you go to heaven or something.. but still, everyone seems to wake up instead.

I don't wake up unless it some kind of extreme death like being decapitated or something. I think I wake up simply because of the extreme shock or surprise/fright. I used to wake up every time and I think it's a combination of "natural reaction" adrenaline and defensive reaction... Now I often endure extreme wounds etc. knowing that I can usually defend myself and regenerate.

Although this does not directly involve your post indirectly it may be of some help.
First of, I was wondering if these dreams that are violent. Do they generally have the same adversary?
The reason I ask is because I had three differant people/beasts that somtimes plagued my dreams.
I then read to confront your enemey or adversary in a polite manner, even try to speak to it and ask a silly or non threatening question.....BlaBlaBla rite. Well since I have learned to Lucid dream I have confronted all of those enenmies and have not been rittled from them since. About 1 year since the last confrontation.
Hope this is of some help.

doesnt happen to me neither. If i die, I either 1. Start the dream over like a video game and experience the same thing 2. just switch my conciousness to another DC or just be omnipresent 3. another dream starts completely different.

as for howetzer...i used to have aliens and such that haunted my dreams now and then..recently i got a sudden explosion of them in my dreams and i got extremely pissed..i just said over and over in my head as i went to sleep that if i EVER saw an alien in my dream again I would go and hunt that jackass down and mutilate it with my bare hands and then i just made a visual in my mind killing an alien as brutally as possible..seems to have worked so far

nightowl, I guess that says a lot for the saying, what works for one person may not work for another.
I guess whatever approach one can come up with that works.

Speaking of aliens... I used to be frequently attacked by the "grey" aliens in my dreams, but interestingly, they only seemed to attack me after I became aware of their true presence. For example, a few times, after becoming lucid in the middle of dreams, I would then realize that the "people" in my dreams (sometimes friends/family, etc.) could not really be the people they were portraying since it was only a dream. Anyway, whenever this awareness arises, the alien shape-shifters reveal their true nature and usually try to attack me, but only after I question their motives for being in my dream or accuse them of deception. They are often able to fly/levitate and when they touch me, they cause some kind of electric paralysis, as if they affect my nervous system. I also noticed when I first started having dreams with these "greys" in them, they would almost always try to convince me that they are friendly, and then they would attack violently whenever I became more aware of their presence or when began to suspect them of ill motives. They especially hated the fact that I proclaimed Jesus as my savior, protector, and my Lord. I noticed that this is usually true of most of my dream attackers though... I don't see the greys as much now (unless they are just getting better at deceiving me ). Now my dream attackers seem to be mainly others... witches, "sorcerer spirits" and such... I generally try to steer away from these types of dreams, but I seem to be a target to them for some reason.

I think I mentioned this in an old thread, but I noticed any time I "conjure" a blade or sword to help me fend off my attackers, I end up getting severely slashed and cut and usually have to force myself awake because I am in pain and feel like I'm bleeding to death (healing/regeneration takes a lot of energy)... It's almost as if by using such weapons, I am "opening the door" for my attackers to use that same weapon AGAINST me. It seems to be the only weapon that does not drain me of energy though. I also noticed that anytime I try to use ANY kind of weapon, I usually end up digging myself into a hole (the fighting usually becomes so intensely war-like and chaotic that I have to wake myself and read, pray or listen to music for a awhile in order to avoid falling back into the same dream).

evangel:..damn..i still think your dreams go overboard ... but it would be interesting to see what makes you dream about these things..i rarely get into battles..btw..have you ever tried just using your hands to fight..you know pull some matrix/Gijitsu/acrobatic grab and kick their butt? maybe pull out their heart/brain? just a thought...

funny you asked because several times I have woke myself up by trying to jiu-jitsu/kung fu attackers. I used to have my bed right next to a wall so I would often end up punching the wall or stubbing my toes, or just wrapping sheets around myself while acting out certain moves... The same is true of sports dreams. I'd often frustrate myself because I'd wake myself up before making a goal in soccer or while trying to throw or hit a baseball...

Bottom line is, though LDs are fun to experiment with in terms of athletic ability and stuff, but karate does no good against "nether" realm warfare (Think Dr Fate or Dr. Strange, etc.). You might be able to defend yourself against fists or feet pretty easily, but when it comes to true evil, agent Smith can't hold a flame...

Oh when i first read the post i thought you meant if anyone had a physical damage like a arm missing. Then with lucid dreaming you could reconstruct it, will the brain to repair the damage area of your body. It would be awsome.... anyone?

I know that some people without limbs (born that way or otherwise) sometimes have dreams of actually having their limbs again. But yeah... that is the type of regeneration I'm talking about (strictly within the "phsyicality" of dream reality - not actual physical reality).

Been shot in the face and in the neck. No regeneration, but I was able to sustain the dream and resist damage/death. It's like I could halt the progression of mortal wounds, either that or I could puase the dream, matrix-like, and prevent the bullet impact. I have a tendency to wake up immediately after these dreams though, just because they are so sudden and shocking.
