      I "slowed down" :)

Right, this started off with a nonlucid with me being in some American style school - I won't describe everything for the sake of brevity, the dream ended when I saw 2 students discussing american freedom, after I remarked giggling that there was no such thing one of them got very mad and punched me, then I had a nonlucid FAu
(note: I am not sure in retrospect what was exactly was meant by "american freedom")

anyhow I had this FA, I began writing down my dream, then I was like "hold on a sec"- I realized that everything around me was dark like my eyes were closed

      [GAINED LUCIDITY]

and I was lying prone on my bed, being able to feel both the dream arms I was writing in and my real life arms (in retrospect both were probably dream arms). Usually when I write down my dreams in an FA I wake up, but now I was like "ok, I'm in this predicament, WTF do I do now??"- remember that I couldn't actually see anything at this point, however after a few tense seconds that seemed like minutes at the time, stuff began to happen- I saw a low-light version of my room and flew forwards, then it disappeared, then - at least I think then- I saw some red light flash in the middle of my vision (no I do not have one of them flashy electronic dream mask thingies) - and then my room reappeared and It was very well lit. I saw my window, it had curtains and I could see the bright light shining through the curtains- I flew through the curtains and was now outside.

I remembered that I wanted to slow down and be still, so I did. I was floating right outside my window and saw the beautiful and uber vivid green leaves on the trees- I'd say 90% WILD quality, everything was very bright and saturated with color. I wanted to stay still but couldn't and ended up floating ever so slowly. I floated downwards and landed. As I was landing I was amazed by how very vivid, accurate and detailed everything was- I saw a power converter box thingy. In retrospect it wasn't actually accurate but still looked amazing. I was now in the yard near my house. I started walking through it, almost at a snails pace, just taking in the scenery and looking around. I felt very "wise" because I was not in a hurry anywhere, just calm and nonchalant, walking in my own mind. I saw some very vivid and saturated red bricks that comprised a store, as I was walking past it a female DC, maybe 30 years of age caught my eye - she was about to walk past me but I stopped her and sorta freaked her out by raising my arms and being all spirit/ghost like, now I feel kinda sorry for her cause at first she smiled at me

I continued walking, I did a few RC's including a nose RC, just cause it was fun and I wanted to breathe with a closed nose so as to bring more meaning to my real life nose RC's, it was so realistic I even felt the snot in my nose lol, then I saw a pack of dogs upfront and then woke up.

in retrospect I think doing the nose RC must have affected my breathing and resulted in the dream ending. I wonder if breathing eratically/very fast or indeed holding your breath is a way to quickly exit dreams- after all seems to work in nightmares

Also, once I woke up I had a slight headache that lasted for a few hours- not sure if the LD caused it, after all there are threads on WILD's causing headaches and since this dream was very vivid it could be similar. Still, it was totally worth it!

TAKE DV members advice with caution! some have had zero or 1-2 LD's yet act like gurus
