      Wasted Opportunity

So I am kind of new to this and haven't had a LD in a few weeks. So last night I totally wasted a real opportunity. I was running down this spiral ramp that kept going around and around (there was no one but me). Then, a girl past me going upward. I realized I was dreaming and turned around. Right before she went around the corner where I wouldn't be able to see her anymore, I yelled, "STOP!"

Unfortunitelly, I yelled it out in real life, woke myself up, scared the crap out of my cat, and pissed off my wife. She doesn't like this stuff and thinks I am nuts. She knew exactly what I was trying to do.

So, I am glad that I was able to realize that I was dreaming but I guess I got too excited. On the good side, I am remembering a good majority of my dreams every night. I can't say how much though being that I don't know how much I am forgetting but I would say I consistently remember about 5-6 dreams per night. This is from literally remembering no dreams for 5-6 years.

Hi RemRunner! I remember a few times that my dreams have felt so real to me that I've woken up mumbling things from left over remnants of them. Just keep at it, who knows...maybe your wife will develop a "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em attitude someday ^^".

Remembering 5 - 6 dreams a night is phenomenal and speaks volumes about your persistence when it comes down to lucid dreaming. It's not an easy ability to master but with every lucid dream, one can see that the rewards outweigh the practice time.

That's funny. I always think I yell in my sleep, but my girlfriend says I rarely do. There is that weird transitional place, where you are aware of your body in bed, but also still in the dream. I always wonder if I am really talking out loud, or if I accidentally peed the bed, or punched the wall or something.
