      Lucid dreaming and body control

      Hi All,

I'm new to the forum, but I've been a lucid dreamer for about as long as I can remember.

I have a recurring experience in my dreams where I am aware that I am in a dream, and I have control over my actions and surroundings except that I can't run. I have concentrated very hard to try and run, but every time I try I can either run in very slow motion while everything around me is moving at normal speed or I can barely move my legs at all and feel very unstable when walking. I've even tried using my hands to manually move my legs which is very slow and cumbersome.

The other night I was dreaming about running down a jogging path. It was the actual act of running that made the dream lucid because I realized that I was finally dream-running. However, as soon as I was lucid my body slowed down again and I stopped running. I tried running backwards, and that worked fine and I could run backwards at normal speed. Then I tried side-stepping and I could do that normally too. But every time I tried running forwards it was like something was just blocking me from doing it.

This has been going on for years and I feel like I need to get past this in order to gain better control. I haven't read through this site very much yet, so I may find some information here, but I wanted to share my situation to see if anyone else can relate or if you have some suggestions.

      Thanks

i think a good way to help this is to actually go running in real life. I dont know if you jog or not, but in my case i do run sometimes, but not everyday. So my mind is more used to walking than running since i walk to get around, but i dont run. If i ran more often, then maybe my mind would be more used to running and it would happen more naturally in my dreams. I have the same problem sometimes in my dreams, even though most are non-lucid
