Taking control of your LD v. Having trouble

Lately, almost every LD I have had, I haven't had complete control. And by that I mean, I can't always fly, or do whatever I feel like doing.

I remember when I first started having LDs, I could do whatever I pleased—fly to wherever, visit whoever, change the settings as I pleased, etc. But for some reason I just can't do it anymore!

Last night I had a LD and I tried to make fire come out of my hands, and I was saying I can do it, but nothing was happening. All that happened was my palm started to get blisters (as if they were being burned or something). I gave up on that, and I tried to fly, but couldn't!

I also went lucid a second time last night and it was more like I was just playing out the dream, but being aware the whole time; i didn't really have any control.

So why is that? Will it eventually just "come to me" and I will be able to control everything? I really want to start flying around and shooting fire from my hands. Ha! LOL.

      Cool

Actually, I have the same problem ...it might sound wierd but there is actually one of my Dc's who controls my dreams ^^; If i'm nice to him I can do whatever I want in my dreams, and he'll even teach me new things, but if im stubborn and don't do as he say or make him upset he pretty much kick my ass and lets me suffer for nights before I get a fun lucid dream again 0o... but i've also found out that it takes practise to do things like flying or throwing fireballs and stuff, try to not concentrate so much when trying to summon something. if it doesn't work the first time try again later :3

That's interesting! Maybe I need to find a DC that will do the same, or just practice like you said

I have noticed that having any doubt can mess things up. When I am flying and think "I hope I don't crash" I start to and sometimes can't help but crash. Usually though, my second attempt goes a lot better.

Last night I crashed into a tree, I have crashed into a pirate ship, and into buildings. Come to think of it I crash a lot... O well the crashes are really cool most the time. When I get back up I have better control.

The other night I was trying to make a ball of energy in my hands. It looked really cool to begin with, then turned into a big jaw breaker, wtf is that even about?

It must be because you doubt it'll actually happen, as already mentioned - If you throw yourself into the air IRL, would you actually believe that it would work?

You do control your dream, though in this case to a subconscious degree.
Like The Matrix, where you got to completely ignore this worlds physics, and actually believe that you can dodge bullets.
Unless you feel like turning into a nice, moist pile of... Something.
      Wait, what?
