      Smile First lucid...

      Last night was very unusual.
I began looking into lucid dreams a few weeks ago. I stumbled upon this site early on. It's truly awesome, and I've learned a lot from it.
So anyways, yesterday, I learned about reverse blinking. I also got an app alled Altered State for the iPod touch. Those are the two things that I used yesterday.

      So here's the story.

It's 11. I feel tired, so I decide to try to have a lucid dream. I begin altered state and set my alarm for 4.
I begin reverse blinking. This really works well; I go into a trance-ish state quickly. I try thinking of the dream I want (assassins creed 2 atm), but I kind of forget it.
Next thing I know, I'm in some cave. I know that I'm dreaming, and think for a second,, "wow! I'm actually doing it!" I note that i remember everything that I've seen here. I remember reading something about looking at my hand to ground my lucidity. I do just this, but it begins waving around. I guess I fell back asleep or something, because I don't remember anything after this.

I wake up. Or so I think, as it's a false awakening. My mom comes in and, for some reason, begins making my bed. I tell her all about the lucid dream I had last night.
My alarm clock wakes me up.
I attempt to reverse blink again, but go straight to sleep; I mustve been too tired. I go into an ordinary, non-lucid dream. Then I wake up for real.

Now it's almost 11 again. I plan to try this again around 12-1.
So anyone have any input or advice? I appreciate it.

Nice, congradulations. I'd get into the habit of doing a reality check EVERY time you wake up, be it in the middle of the night (unless you're trying to DEILD), or in the morning. Then you'll catch most of your FAs and turn them, too, into LDs. =)
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Okay, I'll try that. I've begun to attempt it before, but I constantly forget. I guess I should just focus on it more.

      Thanks!

Also, no lucid since then. I've been going to bed a bit too late, and I fall asleep fast, usually before I set my alarm for a WBTB. I keep having dreams where i don't think to RC, which is annoying.

I have been doing RCs since then, but I haven't had any false awakenings so I don't really know yet.

Keep doing you RC. Multiple times a day. This helps me out greatly. Make sure you really get into them and actually pay attention to how things feel, look, etc. Results don't come quick just be sure to stick with it!
