Was it Moon or was it MILD?

Ahhh, I must say I’m feeling pretty good today! Finally, another LD (2nd). Not sure which causes made it possible...

I was on my way home from the gym last night and couldn’t help but notice the large full moon. I thought to myself “Wow! Tonight will be a lucid dream night!”. I don’t really know if there is any connection. But I figured since the moon does effect large bodies of water – and human bodies are made up of mostly water – what the hey.

Upon going to bed, I went back to the ol’ “I’m going to dreamworld now – I will lucid dream tonight!” (i.e.- MILD). I didn’t mention the moon.

So, something worked. Maybe both? Maybe luck? Maybe it was just my dream sign that tipped me off again? Who knows, just wondered if anyone else had any thoughts on the moon the mind and lucid dreaming.

I don't know what part the moon has to play with lucid dreaming. Maybe someone could start an experiment that deals with dreams and how they change over the course of the phases of the moon. Interesting...

Anyway, alot of times when I tell myself I am going to LD, I do. I think you were just thinking about it and brought it more into your consciousness making it more likely for you to lucid. Alot of times when I lay down to take a nap midday I'll say outloud..."ok time to get lucid!" and its worked for me alot. Or if I just think about it before bed I am more likely to become lucid or even remember my dreams. Though last night I was so drunk I just passed out and I don't remember any of my dreams so I can't comment on the whole moon thing. Man I feel like shit today. TGIF!!

Way to get that weekend started early! Hope you recover in time to party the rest of the weekend off

Yeah, I thought maybe that moon thing may have worked it's way up from the back of my mind and help.

So, you can actually sleep deep enough in a daytime nap to go lucid? I think that would be hard for me (at least most of the time). Once I'm up, I'm UP. Kinda sucks sometimes.

Actually, I think the key to having lucid naps is that you are actually NOT in deep sleep, and therefore any dreams that come you are still quite conscious and are more aware of when you enter the vibrational state or a dream. I usually snap back to consciousness the second I enter sp b/c I am aware of the vibrations/humming in my ears...and if I don't become aware during sp I usually just become lucid at some point right when entering a dream. I would even suggest trying the napping technique with a stimulant so that your brain is even MORE aware. I take caffeine and ephedra (yeah I know its illegal blah blah I don't care). I'm almost more in a trance-like state when I am going from sp to lucid over and over again. I find it hard to LD at night because I AM such a deep sleeper.

I guess that makes sense. I'm wondering, though, if I do manage to get enough control to LD within the constraints of napping, hell, I might just get HOOKED!! I'd stay home and dream!

Yeah I got to a point last quarter (when I was in school, now I'm interning and can't nap ) where I would nap for like 2 hours EVERYDAY and have MASS lucids. It was great. But the only problem with that is...I haven't learned to do reality checks/recognize dream signs, etc. during deeper sleep at night so now that I can't nap I've only been having lucids like twice a month. Sucks. I can't wait for Spring quarter.
