Thread: Can't see while lucid

Well last night i had my 2nd lucid dream, don't know why but it started on the night of summer.

Well it happen after i woke up after a long sleep and wanted to sleep more and during that time i became lucid and i woke up from my bed feeling numbness in my body and having trouble seeing stuff.
I wander around my house and touch my cat (it felt so real), i started to sit on the couch trying to see and i got to frustrated and woke up and i was in my bed. It lasted about a minute

I can see stuff but its really blurry and i shouted out loud "increase lucidity" and nothing happen

Is it also dark? My first lucid dreams were dark and blurry too.

Try not to get frustrated because you can't see that well. Usually when this happens to me, I teleport by opening a door and expecting it to lead outside. Outside is usually much clearer and brighter. Imagine you're exiting your house through the door, even if that bedroom door is really supposed to go to the hallway.

If you want to stay inside though, when you shout "increase clarity" expect the room to get crisper and brighter; don't just say the words but really mean it.

Having a lucid dream is a milestone in itself, so don't get discouraged! =)

I have been perfectly blind in a few lucid dreams. I could feel my self "enter the dream ( through a WILD) and I knew 100% I was dreaming but I couldn't see anything ( after HI, I felt my self standing upright, and I heard some stuff.) I couldn't open my eyes! What I found somewhere else is:

Your eyes are glued shut ( that's what it felt like). Just use your hands, and pry them open. Either rub them to get the "glue" off or open then like, for real.

I tried it, and it worked. It was a long time ago, but techniques don't age.

I have temporary loss of vision in some lucid dreams I have but I usually only have to wait it out to get it back. I usually end up talking and feeling myself around instead.

Asking a person for help at these times can be a good idea. I've had comfort with people taking my hand to hold if and when I lost my vision, but you have to ask for it.
Though there have been a few blunders with 'feeling up' some bystanders without meaning to some times. Just apologize when you do!

I've always found it useful to sort of 'rationalize' the experience. Your dream self always seems to go along with the crazy explanations you make up, which is why it can be really hard to get lucid in the first place.

In this case, I might tell myself my vision is blurry because there must be something on my glasses. Then I reach up and fully expect my glasses to be there, then I take them off and wipe em for an instant vision fix. Just make up a reason and focus on believing it. Sometimes its hard to force yourself to just 'believe it' so I'll try a bunch of reasons in a row:

I must be wearing a blindfold...*reach to unwrap*... that should fix it! (fail)
My glasses must be dirty... *wipe*... that should fix it! (fail)
The lighting must be bad in this room...*walk into next room*... that should fix it! Etc etc.

Build your confidence with the idea that 'that wasn't it, so this MUST be it!".

After using the method for a while, I didn't have vision problems anymore. Hope it can help you out, good luck!

I also said "increase clarity" and nothing happened. There was a bit more light in my kitchen than in the rest of the house and I could hear the washing machine in the next room... but that was about it. It was so frustrating :p
By the way it was also my second "lucid" dream. Nothing much happened since then.
