Created a beautiful song on an acoustic guitar

I had a dream where I wasn't sure if I was lucid, but I'm pretty sure I was because I was aware of everything I was doing.

Basically, I remember getting a hold of an acoustic guitar in my dream. Then I began creating a tune by moving my fingers on the strings and playing them. I was constructing the song as I went along. It was very simple to play but it was incredibly catchy and beautiful. I just went with the flow and created this song. Then I told myself I needed to remember how it went so I could replicate it on a computer program in real life (since I've never played guitar), and listened to it again. When I woke up I could barely grasp how it went.

I'm 100% certain I've never heard this song before. Because as my hands went on the guitar, I was constructing this song how I wanted it to sound. But the funny thing is I don't know how to play guitar, yet it felt like second nature to me in my dream.

      Christ, this reminds me.

Some time ago, I remembered that, while I was fading into sleep and experiencing what I guess was audio HI, I listened to this absolutely brilliant classical piece. Like, it was the most beautiful, epic piece I've ever heard, better than anything Tchaikovsky or Beethoven or anyone could ever have composed.

When I woke up, I thought about it, and realized that the song has never existed in real life. It was a song composed ENTIRELY by my own brain while I was falling asleep.

Unfortunately, I have no knowledge of music, so I could never transcribe it. I can still vaguely picture the sheet of music. Yeah, I saw a sheet of music, too. Strange stuff, man.

Damn, it would have been so cool to hear that. Maybe try (if you can get into a lucid) to tell yourself "remember the song" and try to keep the tune in your head through the whole thing, keep listening to it!

It's happened to me before. One time I was watching a music video and listening to a punkrock song that I've never heard before, and it lasted the entire dream. The song was about a member of the band who'd died in a car crash and whose fondest memory was of going to the studio for the first time. It was a moving dream, a great song, and a well-done video.

Funny how dreams can give you those things then take them away from you - I couldn't remember the melody or words afterward. But I'll never forget that dream.

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.

I have had similiar to this too. But not with a song, it was more a video. I created this amazing animation and used an incredible technique which i could probably never get used to, and when i woke up... I couldnt remember anything about the technique or the video
