First, and very important, make sure you sleep enough. A lucid won't happen if you are stressed, have a short night sleep, etc... Also, if you never had one, it's a bit more difficult for the brain...

Hey luciddreams97,
It took me about 6 months to have my first lucid dream. Granted, I didn't really follow great tutorials like DreamViews, but the point is, it can take some time to see results....

Also, taking a break from active attempts for a few days is sometimes really helpful, give your mind time to absorb the lessons you've been trying to teach it.
