      Nightmare or No?

If something terrible happens in a dream, but in the dream, you are not all that bothered by it, is it still a nightmare? Or is the term "nightmare" reserved for the feelings while having the dream?

If the latter is true, I have had very few nightmares. If the first is true, I have them quite frequently.

Good question. If the dream disturbs you enough to wake up with fear or dread then it's a nightmare I would say.

I'd say if you're not bothered by it, it's not a nightmare.

I happen to think getting chased by zombies now and again is great fun!
