      Evil Experiences In the Night

I've been reluctant to post this and haven't updated my Dream Journal here on site because I've been wanting to try to figure this out for myself, but currently I've been having a bad string of Nightmares. Every night I will shoot awake at around 4:00-4:30, dripping with sweat.

My dream recall has gotten pretty good I guess considering I'm remembering a Nightmare every night now.

This kinda started outta the blue, I'd have a normally half-decent recall. It had been recently getting better slowly, but then one night I remembered a dream, the first Nightmare, in more detail than I've ever remembered a dream.

This has been going on for a little over a week I guess. I finally decided to post because of the latest Nightmare.

They all involved the same thing, someone dying. I made a post in the Help forum a while ago about where I am in life. I hadn't expanded on that, but long story short I have few people I really care about, few people I would consider real friends. The few people I do consider friends, I care for very, very deeply. These are the people I truly respect. There are only 4, though I've had one nightmare involving a 5th, who I've only just met however. So that was a shocker to me, but thats not the point.

Each Nightmare's death involves the persondying extremely violently. The dreams are very graphic, very bloody and very gory, and they're always crying for help and in extreme pain. It has been coming to the point where I just don't want to go to sleep at night.

In one instance I actually was able to try and help one of them, but it ended in failure.

The last Nightmare, wasn't actually entirely a Nightmare. It was very odd to say at the least.

I was whipping through what seemed like space at an extreme speed. There were glowing shapes all around me. Some were 2D, some 3D, some morphing between the two. They were all different colours, and seemed to be made of light, and were just floating in what seemed like empty space.

I was whipping through this space in what seemed like a tunnel made of dull glowing light, but I could see outside this tunnel, ala the shapes.

But things started to change, to take actual shape. An actual scene began to form around me. Grass, Trees, a blue sky, buildings and animals (though none like I'd ever seen before) started to form. When it all came together I was floating our front of a Cathedral or Church. Just floating there. I wasn't right in front of it, it was a slight distance away. I floated there looking at it, and it blasted apart into little cubes and then flew back together around me, putting me inside.

I looked around this church, amazed. Then I waved my hand around and watched as it left a path, like an after image. I did this for a bit until I heard a Priest's voice. It was so soothing, I loved hearing it. I closed my eyes and relaxed. I could still see with my eyes closed though. Not entirely, but I could see the outlines of people, of the priest, of the windows of the church. All I saw was blackness and blue streaks of light, of the outlines of people and things in this building.

But when I opened my eyes again, thats when things started to freak me out. The Priest help up a cross. A rather large cross, seemed to be made of gold. Things started slowly here. Voices started to become more dull, and sounded more as if they were in slow motion. I started to question my beliefs and myself. I started to ask myself whether I was "right" in being an Atheist. I asked myself left, right and center about my own beliefs. I got so confused and it came to the point where I just couldn't think and I just didn't know or understand. I started to panic.

I looked back up towards the priest holding the cross. When I did, the waslls of the Cathedral went black, the windows went blood red. The people in the church benches all turned to look at me, their faces seemed to be melting and they screamed as they vaporized into ash. The chandeliers, the benches, the podium all turned to bone.

Then the Jesus on the cross began to move. Watching what looked like metal move like that was very odd to see. His face showed him in pain, suffering. He was speaking what I understood to be latin, and it sounded backwards. I listened in fear as he spoke, and watched as he struggled.

Then I looked a little further down again, to where the Priest holding the cross was standing. No longer a Priest, a what seemed like a Fallen Angel was standing there. The cross dropped to the ground behind him as it stood there. It stood with a pale face. Its robes were ripped and tattered, blood covered and with burn marks. The the wings also torn and tattered, feathers damaged and ugly. The angel was crying tears of blood. Along with its eyes glowing vibrantly with hot white light, hell they we're just pure white light.

Then it then tilted its head and moved it toward me and screamed, the most dreadful scream I've ever heard. Like a screech of a banshee or something, with that same white light coming from its mouth.

I felt everything rush around me, and heard a booming voice. Well... I didn't actually "hear" it, but I knew it to be there. It was also speaking backwards latin, in anger.

As I heard this voice, along with the screech of this angel, I covered my ears and shut my eyes tight. It was so unbearable. There was a slight second long, if even that, pause in the screeching where I opened my eyes only to see the angel screech louder and as the white light took its whole face, and soon body. And it extended more throughout this cursed building, which then flew apart like it did at the beginning of the dream.

There was no outside this time though, it was just pitch and pure black in all directions.

Just as the light from this creature was about to reach me, I went flying back. In that moment, every Nightmare I'd had about my friends dying flashed before my eyes rapidly. It was like experiencing each dream over again in the span of less than a second.

As I flew back at extreme speed into this blackness, I watched as the only thing not black, this light from the angel just got smaller and smaller the further I got.

Finally, I stopped. I slowed down and fell. After being in freefall for a short bit, I slowed to the point were I was floating and was set down gently on something solid. Though there was still black in all directions.

In the end I looked up and noticed a very, very subtle blue. Down was a very, very subtle green. Suddenly, all the fear washed away and I felt extremely happy. I smiled, I fell back and laughed. Suddenly the scene returned, a bright blue sky and green grass. A beautiful, beautiful scene.

I closed my eyes once again, and finally awoke.

Time to add on to this a bit. I mentioned that in the dream a number of previous nightmares I had been having flashed before my eyes.

I have been having nightmares for a short while now. They all involve the same thing: someone I care about dying a violent death. There aren't many people I really care about. I only have a few people I would consider friends, and these are the people who I hold dear. Its painful to watch them killed in the ways they are in these nightmares.

One nightmare I had before, and its located in my Dream Journal. This one has remade an appearance for this situation. The others are entirely unique.

      ---

Friend #1: This person has been my friend since my life began. We've stood beside each other for 17 years and counting, and over the years the bond has done nothing but get stronger. Shes the most loyal and trustworthy person I know.

I've had this dream before, but its returned to haunt me again. The direct entry, straight from my Dream Journal.

My vision starts blurred, and then focuses. I am on ground and in pain. I am in my school, leaning again a wall or locker. Its hard for me to move. I look at the floor around me, which is covered in blood. I look at my hands, blood is running down my arm. I look to my left. My friend Sarah is on the ground, struggling to get up. A character steps into view and towers over her. In his hand he holds a combat knife. He stares down at her, and thrusts the knife into her gut. Then pulls it out and slashes her throat. Fear surges through me, as I watch her body become lifeless. Her eyes turn grey. A cynical smile from the character, as he stares at me.

Friend #2: I respect this person because he has a mind of his own. He doesn't mold himself to fit in, doesn't change his opinion or views just to make someone else happy. He doesn't let others influence him to change who he is. He is who he is, and hes happy with that.

I should also mention hes a hunter. The dream starts, him geared up and weapon ready. Hes creeping through a forest, and raises his weapon slowly towards a clearing. There stands gloriously a trophy kill buck, minding its own business enjoying a meal. Hes about to fire when a strong mist sets in, covering the entire ground. After a short gaze at this odd sight, he re-focuses on his goal, peers through the scope of his weapon and takes aim at the buck. The buck raises its head from its last bite, and blood is seen dripping from its mouth. This is clearly not right, and he stares in shock at this. The buck's fur goes pitch black, its eyes blood red. It turns and stares at its hunter and bears its teeth which are sharper than razors. The buck charges at him, stepping over the body of the slain wolf it was just enjoying.

The hunter fires as fear washes over him. A perfect hit, but the buck is unphased and continues its charge, piercing the hunter with its strong and freakishly sharp antlers. Still charging, it pins the hunter against a tree, blood pouring from his mouth, and needless to say the wound in his gut.

The buck snaps its head downwards, and throws the hunter off its antlers and to the ground. It rears up, brings its front lets up, and towers over the helpless hunter who is unable to grasp what is happening. It brings itself back down on him, and continues to trample him.

It finally stops, and a second, larger and more powerful of the creature is seen watching the horrifying scene. This buck stood a good foot taller with much more mass, its antlers longer, larger, thicker and with many more branches. It seemed much more devilish, if that even seemed possible. Along with its blood red eyes, it had a red diamond formed in the black fur on its forehead.

It glared at the suffering and broken hunter, struggling to move after the beating he just endured. The Alpha as we'll call him, slowly approached and stood towering over the hunter on the ground. The one who gave him this beating, standing idly waiting for the next move. The Alpha shows off its even sharper teeth, and lets out a horrifying screech in the manner a wolf would howl, and brings them down on the face of the hunter. The Initiator follows suit and enjoys yet another meal.

Friend #3: Here's a person I really care about. I respect her because shes managed to push through so much crap in her life. Too many times do teenagers whine and whine and whine over how much their life sucks over something petty. It causes people like this girl, who really do have real problems, to be ignored when they really could be lent a helping hand. Shes a beacon. What would've caused most to be driven to suicide, shes managed to stay sane and go through so much. Its inspiring, and it has helped me greatly with my life just watching her. Shes defiantly one who has a greater understanding and appreciation of things, and I know it will pay off in the future.

In the dream shes running through a dark forest, slightly bruised, a cut on her forehead and shes covered in dirt and sweat. Shes clearly been running a while. She trips as her foot gets caught in a branch, and she quickly struggles to get herself free, tears streaming down her face. She finally breaks the branch gets up to run again, looking back to see if whatever has been following her has caught up. She crashes head first into her pursuer while her head is turned, and falls back down. Too scared to scream, she looks up in extreme fear, colour fading from her face. At this point the being towering over her is nothing but a dark, detail-less figure. It reaches down towards her, and her scream is finally let out but is just as quickly cut off as he squeezes his hand around her throat and holds her against a large boulder. She starts to loose her breath, and he tosses her away and to the ground. He grins evilly, enjoying the chase. She seizes the opportunity to run, despite how helpless it seems. Adrenalin pumping through her beaten body, she runs as fast as she can with her pursuer taunting her by merely walking.

She comes to an old run down shack, and looks upon it with as much fear as she did the person chasing her. She turned to run from it, but yet again somehow her pursuer managed to catch up to her. He knocks her out, and drags her into the shack and pins her against the wall, where she is left suspended by what seem like bear traps.

There are many crude tools on the tables in the shack, from hammers to blades, spikes to hooks. She regains consciousness, pale faced and all energy gone from her. Blood dripping from her ankles, wrists, neck and mouth.

I appear in an attempt to save her life. I bring an axe into the neck of the one who did this to her, and then to the knee. While he is on the ground I release her and we run. We leave the shack and suddenly we aren't in the forest anymore, but a cemetery. It didn't take me long to realize what was coming.

Despite an axe to the knee and neck, we were still being followed. There was no end to this. She was pushed away from me, into a gravestone where her arm was broken, and it seemed like it was literally about to fall off. I glare at this beast, but before I can do anything he swings a backhand toward me, and I'm batted away. His arm didn't even seem to make contact, but I was still thrown back with incredible force into a mausoleum. which collapsed around me, every bone in my body broken. I was entirely unable to move, and was helpless to watch as he reached down and picked her up. He shoved his left hand through her gut, with his right around her neck, I watched helplessly as her head was removed from her shoulders.

Friend #4:This friend I respect because she makes sure she enjoys life, and she tries to make her life worth living. She tries to have fun, and tries not to let anything get her down. At times this can make her come across as somewhat of a bitch, especially to her Ex-Boyfriends when she seems to get over the relationship in a matter of minutes when its much more difficult for them.

The Dream begins with her sitting in the cafeteria at school, laughing and having a good time talking with her friends. Suddenly her expression changes, and she looks around confused for no apparent reason. Everyone in the caf turns to look at her, and their faces melt off and they disappear. The lights in the caf go out, the sky outside goes dark. A number of weird creatures surround her, they seem to be made entirely out of shadow.

Crying from fear, she goes to run but is stopped when someone, human, grabs her by the hair and pulls her back. He holds a knife in one hand, and holds it to her throat while pinning her down to a caf table. He begins to go up her shirt, when she kicks him off and begins to run again. The shadows just standing and watching. Another person clotheslines her, he gets atop of her. He tears her shirt off, but she once again kicks him off. She gets up, but he pushes her with amazing force, right into the school's chapel. The two approach her in the chapel, the shadows now around it. She crawls backwards away from them, but is pinned to the ground and raped.

She is tossed aside, and the two men nod to the shadows which enter her body in every opening, eyes, mouth, ears, belly button even. She loses all colour, screaming at the top of her lungs in pain, until she finally stops abruptly, more blood than could possibly be in her body, all pouring out of her mouth.

Nightmare #5: Theres a reason I didn't use "Friend #5" in that this person I don't really know enough to consider a friend. I just met her recently, about a month ago, and seen her every weekend when hanging out with my friend, her step-brother(Friend #2).

I'm surprised to of had this dream, because these dreams have been of people I consider friends, who I truly care about and consider a huge part of my life. I don't even really know, this girl, nor do I expect I will anytime soon. I know is I'm amazed by her looks and especially her voice, but that alone does not dictate who a person is and therefore not who I would consider a friend. So once again, I am confused.

Though on the other hand, perhaps the fact that I have a crush on her has clouded my thoughts and caused her to enter my dreams.

This was the second of the 5 dreams I was present in. We were standing outside, near a bus stop if I remember correctly. Generally just laughing, talking and having a good time. When not paying attention, she stepped back and onto the road, just in time for the on coming bus. I reacted as quick as I could and moved toward her, pulling her away (though further onto the road) just as she was nicked by the side. Oddly enough, she was no more than stunned. She was completely unharmed. We both looked at each other completely bewildered. Of course it couldn't stop there however, it had to have something bad happen. Sure enough we look up the street after hearing a blazing horn to hear see the giant front of an 18-wheeler rolling towards us.

After impact, we were next to each other on the ground, bleeding and broken. Amazed to be still alive, but it seems the dream was not done with us just yet. I weakly crawl to her lying in the middle of the road. I hold her hand, and look back over my shoulder towards where we were just hit, to see the sirens of an ambulance, with a crowd of onlookers on the side of the road. My first thought was that this was going to be the coup de grace, and the dream toying with me through irony. Death by an ambulance, how much fun would that be? To my surprise it stopped and paramedics came out and approached us. One came over to me and then raised his head and looked down the road in shock. I heard her voice, she said my name sadly, and I turned my head back to see two headlights approaching. Just as it reached us, her being the first to be hit, I was left to imagine what mess was created as I was shot awake.

This one was much more graphic than written... but I'm sick of writing about the blood.

I suspect people may find the sheer quantity of material rather foreboding. You may have more success by posting a 5 to 10 line version of your dream. I know it feels like a compromise, but this is just a pragmatic suggestion.

I listen to Loveline on KROQ alot, so that's where i'm getting some of this.

I think the fact that all of the killers/monsters i've seen so far seem to be made of shadow. The fact that in the church dream the priest is pissed and all that, I think it's something about religion.

I think that maybe you used to be religious, and somewhere along the line decided to turn atheist. I think that there's a voice or something in the back of your head that isn't happy with being atheist, maybe your parents didn't approve or something like that.

You could probably return to your religion, but it depends on how you see it.
The best thing to do would be to just put your parents' disapproval, etc., behind you and continue with your life.

When I was your age (17, I'm assuming) was also plagued by nightmares similar to this. I still sometimes have nightmares, but not as bad as when I was a teenager. I suspect that overtime they will lessen as you grow up, but that's probably not what you want to hear.

I would recomend during waking life imagine yourself back in these nightmares, but instead imagine saving yourself and the people you care about. Confront the monsters/killers and stop them. I don't know if you are artisitic or anything, but maybe draw yourself stopping them, or write short stories for each nightmare where you are able to be the hero. Plus if you watch a lot of horror movies, play a lot of violent games, maybe lay off them for a while.

On a different note, I am impressed with your ability to convey the horror of the dream situations. You could write some amazing, haunting horror stories.

Good luck. I wish I could offer more.

wow, you must watch waaayy too much gore movies!

it is obvious that your nightmares are related to the fear of losing the ones you like, be it friendship or romantic crush...

perhaps you might consider refraining from the horror movies/games for a while... and if things keep ugly, seek some therapy, it could be helpful.

the upside is you have quite a gift for storytelling... have you considered a writing career?

      best regards

Aye. I can relate to this, though perhaps not in exactly the way you feel it.
I'll give you some neutral advice here, since, after all, advice is a dangerous gift to give.

This is wonderfully poetic. If I didn't spend so much time reading poetry and beautifually crafted prose I probably wouldn't understand half as much as I think I do about your nightmares.

Now as for my advice, it may seem overly mundane, sarcastic, or even religious. I assure you it isn't overly mundane or sarcastic, but I can never guarantee overly religious, as I live my life as close as I can to God, who I believe deeply in.

Hitting back on what buckethead said, I definately think your subconscious is trying to tell you something. Though I'm not going to try and translate what, because that's for you and your conscience to decide.
Some simple tips and advice are don't eat before bed, don't drink too many caffienated drinks during the day. Don't let worry cloud your mind and don't internalise worries, instead tell them to whoever they concern, try and think of solutions, etc.
Also, assuming you're in your teens still, just rest assured knowing that vivid dreams and nightmares are common during puberty and teenage years, up into at the latest around 28 but most commonly ending at around 19-23 (mostly age 19, 20 or 21)

I hope I've helped in at least some way!
      Here's wishing you happy dreams~

wow... if that whole ordeal in the church isn't a sign i don't know what is.

You state you are an atheist.

Yet you appear to a holy church, and watch as it turns defiled.
Yes i believe in God, and this sounds like anger towards your non belief.
And what pulled you back was God, and if you don't believe this, then i suppose you wont.
Although this nightmare is somewhat hard for me to comment on, as it seems so satanic in nature.

Well, I'd like to take this opportunity to figure this out with you, friend.

These are very violent and if you care for your friends very deeply, then I understand why you would take this seriously. Especially when your trying to have LDs and have more control of what you think and do.

I'll be saying things that will be neutral or too "forward" for some, but everyone has a view on it. You choose what feels right with your Heart and Soul. I'll only tell ya what they could mean.

And no, I don't know your life story or read what's been going on with your Life before. I want to stay away from assumptions as best I can (Not going to guarantee I'm free from them. I am human )

Let's start with the Nightmares 1 by 1 up until we reach the finale:

Friend #1: One may say that you were picked on in school or thought of as weak. However, I see the school as being something symbolic (Be prepared I'm going to use that word a lot) towards your friendship with her. Schools are where we have the best of times with our friends. With media reports of kids "going crazy" and killing off their recent classmates, and this girl being an extremely great friend to you, your brain is probably going through a scenario that might play through if you did lose her.

As for the Murderous Character #1, I'm leaning toward two options here: Either A: it's a Darker You. In reality, you don't want to kill her, but you probably think you don't deserve a good friend like her and so you not only hurt yourself, but you hurt her as well.
Or B: It's a collective of "friends" or people who do not like the friendship the two of you have. I don't see it as being real DEATH as in taking away a life, but maybe in destroying a friendship and to you, would be brutal.

Friend #2Just to let you know, the colors are random cause I just want them to stand out for your convenience) It's a good thing you mention he is a Hunter for it will make sense as a whole. I don't know how you feel about hunting, but if you told him this dream, I think he'd feel a little uneasy the next time a perfect Buck comes within his sights. This dream is a symbol of how you could lose a perfectly good friend through other means. Hunting is a game of "Life and Death" (At least, to the ones who consider it sport. Where I come from, hunting is a means to survive.) Whatever the case may be, death will come on swift wings. Whatever your going through, you feel as if your friend could fall in doing something he may consider "right", your fear creeping into the dream scape because losing him would also be... brutal.

Friend #3:Well, her running with bruises and cuts along her body are not literal, but a metaphor of her own downs and ends. Her pursuer seems to be male, which assuming(Sorry!) could be a figure in her life that has made it difficult for her or done her harm. You want to help, as it is shown, and you do, however, once you get her out, your back at a cemetary and the figure throws you into a mausoleum, crushing your bones. Again, you may feel helpless in helping her in whatever situation she may be in. Your afraid that whatever could be troubling her, you will not be able to help and she may die... which would be brutal to you.

((I'll explain the BRUTAL part at the summary; Just bear with it for now))

Friend #4: Well, I'm pretty much certain this sounds like someone I used to date in the pass

But back to the dream. I'm going to take it that your friend has ALOT of match ups? And breaks ALOT of hearts as well? Well, maybe not so much, but she sounds like someone that if your in her group of friends, she's loyal to you till the very end. If your a stranger on the street, she'll blow smoke rings on ya and flirt with you for your lunch money But anyways, her character seems to be that free-form type and some boys might take offense to that because well, boys got that Ego thing(Heaven, I still get it from time to time.. not like what your describing though) You feel that the shadows around her could be the school populace, maybe talking about her behind her back and whoever these dark figures could be, could be Ex-boyfriends who wants their revenge. She tries to take refuge in the Chapel, the one place many people believe could protect them, however it fails and she is raped in place. With that success, the dark figures go and the shadows move into her. This could be equal to killing her spirit, not just her body. Your worried that one day she may hurt the wrong people and in doing so, nobody would believe her or save her. She'd be dead inside and that for you, would be brutal.

Nightmare #5: This one is definitely saying something about your feelings toward this girl. If you only just met her, having a dream of her, and feeling sorry for her loss, you do care for her more then you let on. It does not necessarily have to be that of "love", but she is Friend #2's step-sister. That makes her important in some respect.

Now, your involved in this as you were with the Friend who has gone through a lot. On the first, you were defenseless to help her out because of your injuries. On this one, you are defenseless together. What it says to me is, that for Friend #3, there is a part of you that wants to get her out of the pain that she is or has been in. For Girl in Nightmare #5, you see yourself with her, even through pain and death. But again, you are unable to assist. Because of that, the result would be brutal.

      Summary:
In all of these, all your friends have died very tragic deaths, however, they all stem from their own experiences and feelings. The Hunter and the Buck, the Girl and the Shadows, the Chase through the Forest... all of them have something in common with the person your dreaming about. Worries and Fears that they may do something in their current life that would take them out of yours and that you can not do anything about it. Your dreams collectively are letting you know that you love these people more then you let on and if you were to say, have a dream of them dying in a hospital bed (Knock on wood), the impact would not be the same. You, yourself, must have gone through something that hurt you deep inside for you to dream with such grotesqueness. Or it could be that you just want to protect your true friends under any circumstance, but you lack the self-esteem or confidence to do so. But it is not as all dark as it may seem...

      ODD DREAM

So, you love your true friends but are afraid of their safety and feel inadequate to defend them? It could be the reason this one dream has come upon ya.

Whether your into a being "up there", in Angels and Demons, Love at first sight, Dogs and cats living together(Mass hysteria!), or not, this dream is definitely a source of insight.

Your being flung towards a Cathedral (A much LARGER church, correct me if I'm wrong) and then it breaks apart to little cubes, then all of a sudden, your in it. Message? Whoever is giving this(Message) to you, is going to bring you into its world, whether you want to or not(Hence not going through doors or phasing in). It could be a sense that religion is around you wherever you look or that your own sanctuary, although it seems far away, is actually closer then you realize.

Remember the dream with Friend #4 and her being in a Chapel? Well, you may feel as if the Catholic (Or Christian, which ever floats thy boat) church/religion may not be giving guidance or its assistance to you or any of your friends as so believe. You may feel as though these institutions do more harm then good. You see the Cross of Jesus which appears to be made of Gold, a possible "mimic" of the "Golden Calf" story. Your beliefs coming into fruition within your own mind.

When you closed your eyes, you were able to see the outlines of the Priest(Who we'll get to in a moment), the Alter, the walls, the benches, etc. It could be that even when you close your mind to the thoughts of religion, your still seeing it as a possibility around you. You only see the outlines, which could be that you see some good potential in some of the religious material if only they omitted a few things.

((I'm sure the Black and Blue Outline symbolism means something, however, I don't know color meanings in dreams. Heh heh.))

The Priest has a soothing voice and you felt relaxed. A meaning of protection, of hearing the words that make you feel at ease. There is probably someone in your life who you think of as just this kind of person, someone who'll be able to calm you down by the sound of their voice (Sounding familiar? )

Now comes the part of opening your eyes once again to the sound of fear and you begin to question your own beliefs. Usually, when humans question their beliefs, it's usually because "I'm doing what I believe in, yet, I still feel empty." or "I'm doing all I can, yet I still get the same troubles!". Maybe your friend's step-sister is into religion? If she is, does she seem happy all the time? You begin to doubt and worry.

Now this next part, if I ever saw in real life, I will tell you straight up, would dump a crap-ball the size of the moon. Though, this part of the dream has significance as well. Because you begin to doubt and fear, all around you, the once beautiful Heavenly Cathedral becomes a dark, forbodding Church of Hell.

The people there turn toward you and with a scream (because of pain of their faces melting, or at you) then vaporize into ash. Have you turned away from people, or has people turned away from you?

The Jesus person coming alive, writhing in pain, and then the Latin. Do you remember those words? Or at least, recall what they might have sounded like, even though they were backwards? A lot of popular ancient text was written in that language and (Don't want to scare you) when some people are possessed, there's stories of them speaking in Latin.

The Fallen Angel. Could it be Satan himself? Or could it be another of the cursed Fallen (If you believe that)? A frightful sight indeed, and one that cannot be explained by mere dream interpretation.

However, what fun would this site be without DI?

The Fallen Angel could be something of your former self. Yes, it sounds very Freudian, but dreams convey a lot about ourselves yet we do not even know it. You may feel that you have fallen from grace, that when you turned your back on the Big Guy in the Sky, life has not at all been pleasant for you.

I'm going to say that the White Light is mere SFX, lol. Though it could have meaning about the Inner Light you have that wants to be let out...

However, being blown back and then all those dream occurrences happen very swiftly, it's an indication of all your fears and mortality. It's a collective of what you know is important to you, yet you failed because of the path you took or because you feel powerless in defending them.

Then as the last bits of light dimmed then... poof! disappear, your surrounded by darkness. This is a point where you create your experience. Because out of nothing, something appears.

And what begins as just a smudge of color, eventually turns into a beautiful scene as you described, shimmering with color and happiness. No other feeling in the world then to have an unending smile.

Some would say it's God saying he'll always be with you, even if you think you've "fallen". Or it could be yourself, punishing yourself for the choices you've made yet there is always that gift you have within you that gives color to the world.

      Conclusion

Well, we've come to the end (finally) of this long dream. Your friends are not going to die horrible deaths(Knock on wood) and your not the Anti-Christ(Knock on OakTree). You have intense feelings for your friends, a special bond with them that you do not want to see taken away from you, yet you feel insecure about your own stability or that you could provide any comfort for them. You do! And even if this does not apply to you, hey, would it hurt to recognize that your able to defend your friends any time?

As far as religion is concerned, hey, whether your Atheist or Catholic, Hindu or Buddha, Giants-Worshiper or Gozar(Heh heh), it doesn't hurt to be open to the ideas of other religions and incorporate them into your own. Treat your neighbors as you would like to be treated, find peace within your mind, heart, and body, eat Mr. Stay Puff marshmallows(I'm sorry, I'm a Ghostbuster fanatic).

If this does not do you any good, go to a REAL Professional Dream Interpreter and shell out a few bucks to allow him/her/it to detail your dream. Tell one of your friends you had the dream about their involvement and see how they feel about it.

If it REALLY does bother you, like another member said here, write the dream out however, do so in a way where your able to control the circumstance. And then after your done writing it down, take a few minutes to picture it in your head.

Okay, I'm done for the night. Take care, hopefully I didn't come too late (If I did, don't tell me cause my fingers will be thinking of ways to jump off a desk) and that somehow, this information helps you out.

It may not be SIGN FOR SIGN or INTERPRETATION LIKE IT SAYS IN THE BOOK, but it's how I see and feel it. Goodspeed, out.

Okay, sorry if this thread is too old...

JerichoMccoy did a really good job at interpretation, by the way.

I just wanted to add a few things (just from my perspective):
In the dream about Friend #2, the buck was eating a wolf. Then, it was doing the same with the hunter. Could be a symbolic comparison between the wolf and your friend. Maybe like, "even the fearsome hunter can't win every battle".

In the odd dream- I don't know much about biblical references (my mom's Jewish), but I did become agnostic a few years ago (not quite athiest because I don't rule out the possibility of God). Anyways, maybe the questioning of beliefs has to do with the dreams about your friends, about death and the questions it brings. Might also compare the figure of Jesus in pain to what happened to your friends, especially Friend 3 with the injuries to the wrists and ankles. I'm not sure about the angel. Could be your friends, could be yourself, could be something else entirely. One thing I noticed is that the white light pushed you away before it touched you, and so did the killer's hand in the dream about friend 3. Maybe the white light represents life? You wind up in total darkness, maybe meaning death. Then the dream ends with the faint green and blue becoming the scene and a feeling of happiness. This could be a way of the dream showing you that even after/despite all that horrible stuff, all is not lost, that maybe death can be not just an end, but a beginning (not to get too cryptic ).
"When you see the shadows falling,
When you hear that cold wind calling,
Hold on tight to your dream."
