Disturbing Nightmares, looking for help.

Hello everyone. I'm brand new to the site, this is my first post. Anyway, I'm writing this because I've been having some really disturbing and horrifying dreams lately, and I'm looking for some viewpoints so I can try to understand them. I guess I'll just dive right in then. In the first one I had I'm sitting on a bench in my garage, holding our electric chainsaw. I press it against my chest, right over my heart and pull the little trigger thing on it. It tears a huge hole into me and I don't make a single sound. And then instead of blood waves of millions and millions of maggots pour out of my chest and cover the floor. Then in the next one I'm trapped in a huge building. There's winding hallways that go on for miles and miles, all lined with doors. It's freezing cold and there's ice on the floors that cuts my feet. The doors all have a number on them and a key hanging from a brass hook. But the numbers change and shift every time I look at them and the keys never fit. After wandering through the hallways for what seems like hours I start taking the keys and the brass hooks off the doors. I pound the brass hooks into my bones and soon I'm totally covered in keys. And I fall and keep trying to crawl to the doors trapped under the weight of the keys. I usually wake up after hours of crawling. And in the last one there's a room with out a single feature in it except for a crib with a baby in it. And I know that the baby is me. Anyway, then a man in a tattered black cloak steps out of the wall. And I know that the man in the cloak is also me. The cloaked Me is surrounded with a huge cloud of flies and covered in maggots and centipedes and other bugs. The cloaked Me walks up to the crib and puts his hand over the baby's nose and mouth and starts choking him. The bugs crawl off the cloaked Me's hand and arm and starts attacking the baby, burrowing into his eyes and stuff like that. And after a while the baby dies and just sort of turns into a big squirming pile of bugs. Alright, that's it. I've looked in dozens of books and I can't really find anything for those symbols and images. Can anyone help me out here?

I really hate horror movies and never watch 'em, I just don't see the point. And the only thing I'm really afraid of is heights. So I'm still baffled about these dreams.

either you just hvae a very creative mind or these things mean something... in a very creative mindset all of these seem to, obviously, be constricting you... the saw could be somehow cutting out your heart, maybe you love somehting and just aimlessly gave it away... the keys, maybe you tried unlock a problem and couldnt do it and coudlnt figure it out... the last one, maybe youre just disgusted with some sense of yourself today and your innocence of your childhood is being forgotten... onlly you can interpret your dreams correctly... only YOU know whats going on in your life... look under the nightmare section of the site, it might give you some more insight! hope i helped? =]

just came to me... the second one it could be that youre scared about life adn what 'each door of life' unlocks and youre either burdened by the choices ahead of you or you regret and wish to change the choices in the past but you just cant.... again, only YOU know!!

Welcome to DreamViews, Toki. Those dreams sound pretty horrifying. Especially because they are all about you attacking yourself. I'm not the best at dream interpretation, so I don't have much besides the obvious. They seem pretty self destructive, like you are angry at yourself, attacking yourself, ect. Especially the last dream where you act as your own angel of death, killing youself while you are a helpless baby. I'm sure you'll get some great advice. If you don't get good response here, you can also try the dream interpretation section of the forum. I know there are a lot of people around who are brilliant with this stuff. If you want to develop more control over your dreams, check out the lucid dreaming section. Lots of people learn to lucid dream to overcome nightmares.
