Analyse this!!

Ok... Here's my recurring dream. There are a few variables but it's almost always the same. I am engaged in a gun fight with another man. I don't know the man, nor can I remember anything about him, and the setting contains nothing but darkness. My gun doesn't function properly, the bullets just seem to "fall" out of the barrel. While this is happening, I am, fearing for my life, attempting to dodge the unknown man's weapons fire. After several fearful misfires, my gun finally fires and hits the man, but does not seem to stop him. I always awake just before the man is able to fire the fatal shot. I really hope that someone can help me with this dream. It has bothered me for some time and always seems to be like more of a nightmare.

I just thought I'd point out that guns hardly ever seem to work in my dreams either. Usually the bullets are about as effective as BB pellets or even more frustratingly the trigger will be so hard to pull as if its rusted on to the rest of the gun. Its probably a mixture of technological things not working properly in dreams as well as one's fear of not being able to defeat your enemy. Curiously enough I have no trouble beating people / monsters up with handy blunt objects.

I think it represents sexual frustration and insecurity. This can be seen by the fact that your 'gun' does not function properly and although you 'fire' your load, you remain unsatisfied by the fact that other guy, who plays the role of promiscuous masculinity (which you cannot kill because it is figurative/metaphysical), does not 'fire' back since you fail to ameliorate your own impotency.
