      This may sound strange...

Recently I have had a strange urge to have a nightmare. Yeah I know people are gonna say 'You may want one now but you'll be wishing you didnt when you do have one.' That will not likely be the case.

But anyway. I was wondering if anyone has any tips or has accidently did something that has made them or led them into having a nightmare. (Certain sleeping pills, meds, foods, vitamin supplements, beverages, substances etc.) or even sleeping a certain way.

If you have any ideas or suggestions please shares, I'm interested in learning things through my nightmares.

Overcoming nightmares is part of it, and another reason is because often you can interprut a nightmare and it will show you or teach you something about what you are sub-consciously worried about or scared of. Its always interesting to figure out nightmares or think back on them. There are some nightmares i remember having was I was very young and man... I dont think ill ever forget them...

I've been having bad dreams/nightmares for days in a row recently, because I've been eating lots of sugary candy before bedtime for days in a row recently. I stopped last night, and the dreams returned to normal. Thus, eat lots of candy and junk food before you go to bed, it's a safe bet.

The night before, I had a nightmare consisting on me trying to keep my beloved cat in a small red Jeep at the edge of the Grand Canyon on an overcast day, but when I had the door open she ran out, and immediately approached the very edge of the cliff and observed the terrain. I crouched back cautiously, hoping that she'd look down and realize how unbelievably far the drop is, but she was stupid enough (or blind enough) to keep checking out the terrain of the cliff and she fell over it. I watched her free fall into the abyss of the canyon, making no sound, just looking confused. I was incredibly saddened, and even cried a couple times in the dream.

So yeah, that dream has only underlined my feelings of attachment to my cat.

ok. ya I've heard that chocolate has tendencies to give nightmares if you eat it right before sleep, but Ill try other junk foods also.

So yeah, that dream has only underlined my feelings of attachment to my cat.
ya and thats what I meant, by understanding what you fear more clearly by having nightmares, a good example: your fear of death or loss of your cat. Thanks for the suggestion.

      Anyone else have suggestions?

Junk food is a good advice. If you eat junk food late here, it is generally said to you that you are going to have nightmares

Ok, thanks for the input. I'll have to buy some sort of junk food. haha. Generally I don't have any kinds of junk food in my house, even when I do I hate eating it. But I guess if it will work I'll have to do it at least once.

Also I've heard that nicotine patches sometimes give crazy dreams. Does anyone here know this from experience? Just wondering if I should try that, even though thats a little extreme.

Just think about what terrifies you. Do it right now. Close your eyes, and imagine your greatest fear coming true. Remember this feeling. Do it again right before you go to sleep.

My nightmares have been less about scaring me with monsters and dark spooky places, but more about things that sicken me. For instance I hate needles, so needles have been coming up a lot.

Im really scared of being turned inside out. I keep reading about in in WakingNomads posts and I know I'm gonna end up doing it one time or another.
