Thread: a fairly disturbing dream.

over the last few weeks i've been having this reoccurring dream. it bothers me a bit, and i would like to know what it means.

in this dream i have complete control over what i do, but i'm limited to my real world abilities, and i can't control anything other then myself.

the first time i had the dream, i started outside my house. in a city i've never been to before, outside my house was 3 roads i could follow. one went right, one left, and one straight, if i try to go right or left something stops me. so i go straight, at the next intersection is a bus stop where a group of younger kids get off the school bus and head home. i just wandered the city a bit then woke up.

the second time i had the dream, it started with me at home, watching tv. it was a news report about one of the kids from the bus stop. they where missing, last seen at the bus stop. i went outside and again walked past the bus stop and wandered the city until i woke up.
the next few times i had this dream, they started with me watching tv ,reading a newspaper, listening to the radio, or getting the news is some way. hearing about another kid who's gone missing, and was last seen at the bus stop. i again just wandered the city until i woke up. when i have this kind of control in my dreams i normally just explore the area.

i eventually figured there must be some reason i keep having the dream, every time another kid went missing, and none of them where ever found. so i decided to follow the kids home, and make sure they got home safely. i meet up with the kids at the bus stop, and they all seem like real people, each kid has a different personality, and they are upset about their friends going missing. i talk to them as we walk towards their homes, and eventually we get to a long road, with many side streets. each kid lives on a different street, so i can't follow them all home. the kids one by one leave the group and i decide to stay with the group and follow the last one home, thinking that one would be the next target. i get the last kid home safely, their parents greet me at the front door, and thank me for looking out for their kid, again so realistic i can't believe it's a dream. then i wake up.

only to repeat the dream again, another kid has gone missing, i was with the wrong one. every time after that i followed a different kid home, but another is taken, each time i'm getting to know the kids better, i'm even able to have full conversations with them, and they remember everything that happened before. they've said they feel safer with me, it's like they know what's going on, every time one of the kids have to leave the group they all stop and look up at me. it's like they know in the end i can only protect one of them. i've gotten to know the kids so well it hurts a bit when i find out who's been taken. i know eventually i'll be down to one, and i'll finally be able to face whatever is taking them, but the dream is starting to bother me. it just feels so realistic, and the kids seem so realistic, i know they are not real, but it feels like they are.

i've tried looking around their homes after i safely get a kid home to find anything to help me figure out what's happening, i've spoken to their parents to see if they may know anything, but i'm finding nothing, i even tried to figure out a pattern to know who's it's going after next but it's just random.

if anyone could tell me what this dream means, it would be appreciated. if any personal information is needed feel free to ask, i don't mind answering questions.
