That depends on how strongly you believe they will Heh heh.

It's perfectly possible since you create and attract everything in your own Hologram (see "Busting Loose from The Money Game" by Robert Scheinfeld) to REALLY challenge your paradigm.

But what happens if I believe strongly enough that believing strongly enough can't change anything?

And since it didn't work, it changed the fact that believing strongly enough can change things, so it did work.

      Lol, not at all Mark75

I understand the contridiction you were intending.... but you see, I've discovered that each of us creates and attracts everything and everyone in our own world (like I said, see BLFTMG for more paradigm-expanding explanation of this), and so I know that you're creating exactly what you choose in your own experience.....

So in Your physical experience, no matter how hard a person focuses on something, or no matter how positive they are, it has no effect on what they experience...... and so that is true, for you, in your experience, in your world.

In my experience, in the world I'm creating for myself, people affect absolutely everything - and on top of that, there are scientific experiments, that prove that a) human DNA changes the pattern and state of Photons (light particles - the stuff "the physical world" is made of), and b) Human Emotion changes the state of Human DNA. * Other experiments (by Dr. Motto) document how words change the structure of water crystals.... and so on.

Also, in the experience I'm choosing for myself, I have no problem with other people's beliefs - because I completely accept that that is something they are choosing for themselves. I'm perfectly comfortable with you believing what you believe, because I understand that it is your choice, and it affects only you.

I do prefer my own choice, and so of course, I won't be joining you lol

Love and Light and Choice xxx

      * For anyone who's interested in these experiments, listen to the 11-part interview on YouTube with Gregg Braden - the links to which I've posted earlier in this thread.... he goes into more detail about the experiments in his book "The Devine Matrix".

I tend to agree, though only partially. I think most new age stuff is bullshit, especially gimmicks like QRay bracelets and rare earth magnets, and all that nonsense about special "vibration stones" that cure cancer. Jim Carrey died in Man on the Moon, and so will you.

      Spoiler for hawhaw:

In any case, if you ignore all the mind-numbing stupidity surrounding astrology and the likes, you will find some useful tools. Take Tarot, for example. On one hand, some gimmicky people use it as a way to "tell your future", and if you give those people money, I can tell you your future right now: You will die alone! However, on the other hand, you can use it as a self-exploration tool to ask yourself the right questions to get new insight about your own problems. Think of it as a means of randomization. Mutating the evolution slump, or whatever. See, there's a good side to new age stuff.

Another example: chi. Whether you have this special inner energy is up for debate, but again, there are two ways of looking at it. There are people who think they will learn to kamehameha the competition or something. Let those people be. But inner energy is a great way to model things that are too complex to scientifically explain to people who are new at it. As a martial arts instructor, you can learn all about that. Whether you're learning kicking, striking, grappling or whatever, I believe the bottom line is that it's simply mechanics. And the more you advance, the more you start to understand the mechanics behind the moves. But it's extremely difficult to explain to a student the details of a perfect roundhouse kick. You can pinpoint the big things, but some of the little things are harder to pick up for students. However, instead of telling them how to align every bone, if you just tell them to visualize their energy moving in some particular pattern, they quickly pick it up.

Again, it's very useful as a tool for modeling complicated systems in an easy to understand manner.

That being said, the kinds of people who think their fates are sealed by what date range they were born in within the year... those are my favourite kinds of people to target marketing at. Especially the rich ones. They will one day make me rich.

Yeah a lot of horoscopes are not the same even for the same time of week. However, I do believe they can be better refined and not passed over like something so random and yet generic.

Like I said in my above post, all this stuff can serve as a great self-discovery tool, but let's face it... horoscopes == $$$$ Especially those "rolled-up paper" kinds...

Judging from all the descriptions of "the law of attraction," it sounds like something less than it claims to be. At the heart it's just a glorified restatement of the idea that thinking positively and taking intiative in your life tends to bring good fortune to your doorstep. It's an age-old school of thought packaged as a "law" to bedazzle folks into thinking that here's their chance to tap into some greater power. In reality all you're doing, if you follow through, is restructuring yourself from the inside out.

So you want to lose weight. If you conjure up the motivation to put down the TV remote and get outside, you're on track to a slim body. If you won't bring yourself to carry through with your weight loss goal, that fat isn't going anywhere. If you spend the effort, things happen; if you don't, things don't happen. Go figure.

Filling your head with nothing but positively directed wishes teaches your subconscious to guide you toward those ends. There's no magic here. You influence elements within your own circle of control, which in turn changes forces in the external environment. That's why a key ingredient in the law of attraction is your own effort. Every book like "The Secret" stresses the necessity of your genuine participation in contrast to being just an armchair optimist.

I'm not challenging the effectiveness of this positive mentality. I believe it's extremely helpful. But all this "law of attraction" business makes it out to seem gloriously mystical, when really it has a very simple and firm basis in human psychology. This particular line of books with "The Secret" and "Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting" is just another flavor of your usual self-help, positive-thinking books, but presented in a way that's more widely accessible.

In my opinion, of course. Having not read any of the books myself or even much about the law of attraction, I may be toying with too many assumptions. Still, the sudden flurry of interest surrounding the topic is a late reaction to a philosophy that was always there.

You're right to some extent, but there's something important you're missing.

I expect to see a lot of disagreement and skepticism about this topic. Did I have to make people post it? I expected it, and I'm not surprised. I didn't have to make it happen.

I rarely think about being fat. I've thought about being fat so infrequently in my life, that I could count the amount I have. I'm skinny. Most of the time I hear people worrying are actually becoming fat.

A lot of people judge things too early, and lose belief in something. Later they will learn there is always a reason. If they judge far too often, they may not learn much.

I have witnessed the cure of cancer.

      Indeed, i am God.

The first and second statements, are minimally related (in a sense).

      Though neither are sarcastic.

I can't say I'm getting your point. Are you telling me that I chose to whip up a bit of disagreement unkowingly on account of your own private expectations? And you're not fat because you never envision yourself as a fat person?

If I'm interpreting that correctly, you appear to be mixing up cause and effect. You expected disagreement to emerge because of past experience with discussions on unconventional ideas. There's disagreement because that's the norm, regardless of your expectations.

As for being fat, you haven't allowed yourself to relapse into the bad habits that lead to being overweight, so you don't think about being fat. Fat people, on the other hand, are reminded of their weight every single day, so yeah they think about it more than you do. Once again, it's the circumstances that prompt the thoughts, not the other way around.

Tell me if I've completely botched your meaning in that post.

So, did you purposefully type "I" in lower case? Why are you God and how is that relevant as 'minimally related'?

No. My bad, I was a bit vague. Ok my point is that if you're going to talk about 'The Law Of Attraction' you should mention your take on "Thoughts become Things", this is where the practical aspect barely comes into it, the universe is supposed to do it. Basically I was saying how that is true for me. I think there's much more to it that you're not seeing.

You don't understand my full story to form my expectations, so please don't say why things happen for me. And I don't think you get to decide the absolute way things happen to be: I.e. "that's the norm", but my expectations don't have to meet the norm. 'The norm' is a perspective. For example, my view of myself is perfectly normal to me, but for others they may see me as weird, or boring, for example.

That's understandable. It's just that I can eat so much, not get enough physical exercise and not become overweight. Seems funny without thought doesn't it?

That's a pretty good point though. I sometimes can't grasp the full understanding I'm after. I once asked myself: "Do psychics predict/channel the future? Or do they make it happen?"

So, I now think "Do we think of our future to shape it? Or do we change the way we think about what has already been shaped?"

It seems to work either way.

Here, I made this as an offshoot:

That i am God, is not the reason why i have seen the cure of cancer.

Though, indeed it is, as it is the cause of everything.

Here is a general overview and how to use it (very basic. if you want to learn how to really use it then research it)

The law of attraction states that you attract what you think about, for example if you think of diesease all the time youll end up being in contact with it all the time. If you think of money all the time you will end up being in contact with money all the time... you attract what your mind is saying

How can I use this theory to gain what I want???

Its very simple yet difficult to master

start by thinking of somthing that you want...

Imagine yourself having that thing you want (in the present tense)

keep a feeling of joy within you that will help incubate the emotion and keep the thing you want in your mind...

Note: do not say "I want that" or "I will have it" say I do have that. It is important to have it in the present tense in order to keep your thought in the present tense and henceforth the object that you desire in the present tense

think of things that you are grateful of having (this will increase your joy level and increase the effect of the law of attraction)

repeat the process daily making sure that you want to do it and that it is not a chore

It is important that througout this process that you keep a reasonable timeframe that you BELIEVE it is very important that you believe that this will work (again if you believe that it wont work that is what your brain is attracting from the universe)

If you really want to know how to use this process then type "the law of attraction" into google and you will get some good results

Also I highly recommend the movie "The Secret"

Post what you think/ what I can revise / your experiences
Unfortunatley, this law doesn't account for other people's thoughts. Therefore it contradicts itself .

I just hate the way that this piece of New Age crap tries to use science to make it look more credible, it angers me so much. It angers me even more when people fall for it. The Secret feeds on your emotions and thats how it looks more credible, it says that you can have anything you want and thats where people get dragged in. I really would love to meet face to face with who ever wrote the book "The Secret".

Why does it make you angry? I don't fully agree with how they try to relate science with belief either, but that's part of philosophy.
