      Humanity

This topic I will brainstorm about our race, the human race.

I've been thinking a whole lot about our impact on ourselves, our animal neighboors, and our entire collective world.

We as a race have murdered billions of our own and millions of other non-human beings, why?

Why do we feel the need to always have conflict with each other especially and with nature?

      Look at chimpanzee's and bonobo's

they're society has full equality between men and women, they share responsibilities with raising their young.

humans on the other hand always argue, fight, lie, cheat, steal, kill and manipulate others for their own good.

No other animal on this planet follows that pattern of deception that some humans do

I'm not trying to bash my own species, I do understand that there are very very good human beings out there, who care for others they do not know, there are people who are so pure and so at peace

The truth is, the number of good people I believe is a smaller number then that of evil people.

It just baffles me how there is so much diversity in our species, there are great people who do selfless acts, then there are apathetic people who drift through life like logs of crap, theen there are the lunatics and dominant people who want to dominate anything and everything they can think of at the expense of lives.

My real question is, why do we kill our own kind?
I would rather die on my feet then to live on my knees.

Because we have no other intelligent species to fight against.

I disagree with the latter. I believe that the majority of people are decent, and relatively few are actively evil. However, I believe that your view is an easy misconception as people percieve omissions (failures to act) as bad. If a person doesn't donate to charity, or help others when they are percieved to need help, then those, who are essentially good-intentioned people, can be percieved as bad. Even though, in a perfect world defunct of the distractions and the problems of life, such persons would gladly help others in similar instances. If that makes sense.
Whereas the actively evil people are those who do bad by action and not omission (murdering another, robbing another e.t.c). These people are a minority.

I hate the idea we're somehow on a moral lower ground than these "all-good" animals.

Chimps fight over petty issues, kill for dominance, and can be quite sneaky and viscious.

Animals have absolutely no conception of morals at all. They just survive and breed at base. So do we, but we have a far greater understanding of things.

When you're walking through a city think about how amazing it is that we evolved from those beings who are still at the level of building nests from sticks and we have fucking SUSPENSION BRIDGES, FUCK YEAH!

      Yeah that's my point.

Humans rock in comparison to animals is the basic point there.

      Not entirely

If you would count every human being from the beginning to now, every human being that was VOLUNTARILY murdered

the number would make you fall to your knees and cry

      I don't mind so much.

Because if we didn't exist murder and pain wouldn't have any being intelligent enough to inteprret it as "bad" to begin with.

      You think so?

      I'd probably disagree.

What i get is WHY do they show dead bodies on TV but when it comes to topless women it has to be censored? i think showing dead bodies mutilated is way more drastic then big ol titties.

As for this...nothing is innocent, animals fight, and kill eachother, and can/will kill you if they could and you let them, it's how we are and how we are ever going to be, we will never change the way we are, we are what we are and this is what we are and what we do.

Certain primates wage war against each other as well. (see Youtube, Google etc.)

I believe that the majority of the human race is good, but easily manipulated. Most people have a sort of mob mentality. They will follow anyone who seems to know what they're doing.

Also, when one tribe of chimps conquers another tribe, they eat any members of the other tribe that resist them. The only difference is that humans know that they're doing bad things.

to me, having a mob mentality is just as bad as being evil

by not being AWARE about what you are doing is to me is evil, you let un-intended things happen, which were in YOUR control, but most people seem to ignore most things until later

lets ignore global warming, we did that in the past, and still to a degree

we ignored the bin laden threat, then we got attacked

we ignored people who said iraq had no WMDS, yet we listened to some texas bush cowboy cause of a mob mentality

we ignored hitler and appeased him, and he murdered millions

we ignored warnings about space flights, and we ended up with tragedy

we ignored the katrina warning about how it may break the levees

      all due to mob mentality

so to me, being a follower is just as bad as being the leader who leads people into horrible decisions

the leader leads, but the followers can all rise up and take charge themselves, only the LEADER tells them they are powerless and they MUST listen to the LEADER...so everyone complies, then we get fuck ups like katrina and 9/11 and iraq and bush BEING ELECTED TWICE, or should i say SELECTED...
