This thread has some really nice posts in it,

First happiness needs to be defined and how it effects anything in it's namely existence. Why i say namely, well i mean descriptive really, it's a word describing complex and various situations/feelings/scenarios. Happiness must always live with negative emotions, otherwise it isnt happiness, as there is no other feeling to compare it to.Think in terms of switching, or computer language, you have 1's and 0's. Happiness is for example a h, and any other negative/neutral feeling is an n. Life can maybe be called 'x'.

You live for x to equal a +#. Therefore all of h is something to be avoided, but has to be included.
Eg: typical decade of life could be x=h7-n12
This can't possible represent ones total satisfaction though, as happiness as opposed to negative/neutral feelings do not equal the same values. Satisfaction could then be S. Which in turn is simply a square root of an ajacing number.
Happiness provides satisfaction more than any sadness/anger ect many would say. Pure happiness that is, if it exists.
Give h a multiple of the square root then, and n kept as itself.
so the above x=h7-n12 would be,
x=(h7)^2-n12

Ok that was just an example, lol a feeble attempt at explaining that went wrong, ill stop before i embaress myself. I completely disagree with that kinda stuff though, equations to emotions. Seen it before.

Happiness, the music of life that must be played on violin strings of despair, which resonates in all us conscious creatures to provide the opportunity to exist purposfully with a feeling that makes 'being' worthwhile and good.
